They had to go I know that but after the St J game we had a fortnight to get the feelers out and get some feed back before international break, if it's going to be Mixu he should have been appointed by now, I really don't think we have a clue who we want or who wants it
A big fuck
Looks to me as though Wright was their first choice so back to the second choices and unless there's someone comes out of nowhere then I guess it's between. McCall and Mixu.
Mixu as you say could be put in immediately so if no word this week possibly McCall after the international break?

Jackie had to go and shoukd really have went a long time ago but not agreeing things with Wright before a public pursuit is a big fuck up and pretty much sums our club up in the last year.....we seem to lurch from fuck up to fuck up
Not getting Wright will make us look pretty amateurish

Didn't pull the trigger early enough imo. Should have been punted end of last season.
What intrigues me though is Thompson said he had the letter ready to go to sack Jackie so surely he should have started making enquiries asking folk either through agents, or directly for unattached managers if they could come in quickly.
Unfortunately bowman coming in as caretaker ain't gonna work. Players arnt going to really burst a gut for him after his public criticism of them. Don't disagree with what he said but he should never made it public.

Agree he should have went at end of last season , cannot believe by the looks of it we haven't sounded anyone out, it pains me to say I would have felt more confident against thistle with the old management team than bowman

Here come the ST haters!
Quick question, any of you feel free to answer it...
If ST had indeed 'started making enquiries' or 'agreed things' with his primary target before firing McNamara and it had leaked to the press, how would you have reacted?

Here we go.
Very very predictable.

This is the big bad world and players and managers get tapped up every week, of course he should have been doing deals behind the scenes.....day 11 now

Aye, because they were all busting a gut for Jackie when he was keeping his criticism of them in-house. Players are upset because big bad Bo shouted at them in public, aww diddums. We are bottom of the league, have barely won since February and got taken to extra time in a cup game by a 3rd division team. If that doesn't merit public criticism I dunno what does. If the players aren't happy with being criticised by the manager then they can fuck off and play for someone else.

Of course mate, naive to think it doesn't happen.
The point I was making though, is that ST simply cannot win with a section of our support.
He's getting pelters for not having made moves prior to sacking JM. He would have got the same if he'd tapped someone up before he sacked him and it became public knowledge.

In answer to Sidney's question, we fired the bullet too late. Although I don't like to criticise the staff on the internet, I've wanted Jackie and his crew gone for a long, long time.
But I get what folks are saying about maybe leaving him after the Perth game.... I was glad as fuck to know he'd gone that night though. If we'd kept him on and trounced Thistle (highly unlikely) the letter would have stayed in the pocket and we'd have had him for another month at least.
However, there's plenty managers I don't want, so I'm prepared to wait for good news.

Hey, I agree with what your saying but unfortunately it's a fault in some young folk these days, they just don't give a fuck. Maybe oor players deal better with an arms around the shoulder approach.
Mibbee as fans we should storm our St Andrews training ground and tell the players to get their fingers oot their erses Italian ultra style.
Only joking incase I get reported tae the sun again

Not too soon, think the decision on who we want is made and there's a lot of games being played at the minute, because for whatever reason they can't announce that man yet, so making it look like every option has been looked into.
