***CATASTROPHIC***
Really warmed to the thought of Wright as time went on, never mind tho, we move on.
Mixu or McCall it is then.

It's all the Chairman's fault!!!
After giving JM the letter in Perth he should have tapped up TW in the Car Park.

Yip, obviously had his mind on Australia. Not good enough. Fuck off chairman.

If it's a choice between McCall and Mixu I want Mixu. Purely on irrational dislike of Zombie grounds

Correct.
By 6pm tonight or he can just fuck off.

I think McColl on Friday morning . It looks to me Wright is not interested ,

I'm not convinced Wright is dead in the water quite yet.

Wouldn't have minded if it was Wright but by the same token i'm not heartbroken if he decides he's not up for the gig.
He inherited a good team at St.Johnstone don't forget. He isn't inheriting a good team at Tannadice, much work required.
It will be either McCall or Mixu then.I'd prefer McCall but am a bit underwhelmed about both if i'm honest.

Wright and St Js are a good fit and it works.
Not convinced it'd be the same at Utd tbh.
Never been convinced it was actually gonna happen either, there's plenty decent options out there.

I think he'd be inheriting better players mate. Maybe not performing at all well but player for player, I think this is a better squad.

I heard that Mixu's had a pint in the Masonic Lodge at Burntisland mate, so that rules him out too!

I'm not too sure of that. Our squad is weak as piss IMO

Like Tek, I’m unimpressed by most of the names we’ve been linked with, but whoever gets the job is likely to have my full support.
Not bothered that we haven’t got someone yet, as it’s best to get the correct man for the job. My hope is that the appointee is a bit more inspiring than the names that have been going the rounds.

I think you are over estimating our squad a bit tbh Trap (or underestimating St.Johnstone).
St.Johnstone beat us with 10 men,won easily at Ibrox, took 5 off Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
They're a good team who have good players in every department.
Whoever comes here has a job on their hands just to keep us up this season imo.

Just looked at both squads, it's close. I'd still take ours.
Interestingly. TW only took that squad to 6th. And that was with May scoring 27 goals.
St J. 13/14
Alan Mannus
Dave McKay
Tam Scobbie
Patrick Cregg
Frazer Wright
Steven Anderson
Chris Miller
Gary McDonald
Steven McLean
David Wotherspoon
Nigel Hasselbaink
Gwion Edwards
James Dunne
Stevie May
Gary Miller
Lee Croft
Brian Easton
Michael O'Halloran
I've only included players that played more than 15 games that season.

I thought you meant the squad he inherited Tek? Aye, he's built a strong unit. Fair do's.
Offline
Even their current squad though. How many would you take? Mannus and O'Halloran? I don't see too many other names in their squad that would walk into the United team.
Offline
I'd take their whole defence and play them ahead of every single one of our defenders
Offline
On current form, me too.
Are they better defenders though or have they been coached/organised better?
Would you be so keen on them if they'd been coached by, say, Jackie McNamara for the last two years?
Offline
I don't get the fuss that a lot of folk have about McGowan. I think he's been ordinary at best. Dixon has been poor as well. A lot of it might be down to coaching though. That's a fair point
Offline
I like McGowan because he seems like a winner.
Dixon just makes me suspect that JM is the common factor in all these supposedly bad defenders we have. We all know Dixon is a player. What happened? Honestly think with a manager who knows how to organise a defence we'd have a pretty solid back four.
Fuck knows mate. I was initially against Wright getting it, then I really wanted him to get it. To be honest, I'm now not so sure. I'm not sure he's an outstanding candidate that's worth going out and spending money on.

Them two and Wotherspoon for me.

Out of all the names in tge hat Wright ticks the most boxes IMO
He wouldn't stand for limp wristed shite ftom Dow Telfer etc
Wright is an organiser and clearly learns from his mistakes, that is a huge plus for me.
