Re: John Souttar

Couldn't give one shite about this. Let him join the rest of the bench warmers. It's laughable.

Re: John Souttar

Souttar has got plenty ability but for a few reasons we are not seeing him stand out

It is well known J and H were leaving if JM was still here

Re: John Souttar

Know the laddie is still young and for his sake I hope he manages to get his head out of his arse and understand he is potential and nothing more, just cause he came from the same boys club and lived and played with Gauld in Laurenskirk doesn’t mean your gonna be entitled to move to a Sporting Lisbon type team.

I’d have had him out on loan for the whole of last season and hoped that he would have played lower league football against some real bruisers to toughen up.

Will not be missed IMO as he has brought nothing to the table this season and seems content to swan about the pitch trying to look good rather than rolling up his sleeves and getting royally stuck in.

Wherever he goes Tic or not he is due for a real culture shock compared to the nanny state he has been used to at Tannadice.

Good post and 100% correct.

Pop star.

Re: John Souttar

Like that too MD.  Regardless of where he will be playing his futba in the next year; if Souttar sadly does not heed his next Manager and get his finger out and ditch the Billy Big Time attitude, he's another heading for the Jamie McCunnie rocks!

Just realised "heading" was quite apt but inappropriate too!!!

Re: John Souttar

No secret that he was signing a pre-contract with Celtic, heard that was happening last season even before we released that statement offering him a new deal.

He has bags of ability but i haven't seen the requisite desire displayed to merit a first team jersey in months.

If he goes he goes we get our 400k compo or whatever it will be and we get in players who want to play for Utd and show 100% every week.

Re: John Souttar

is it legit to tap up youth players with a year left on their contracts?

Re: John Souttar

Totally non plussed by this tbh. He's talented but not as much as he thinks he is and tbh he's been shite this season

Re: John Souttar

I was told at the start of last week by a freind who had been told by a " reliable source" etc. etc. that a deal has already been done, dissmissed it at shite at the time, but looks like there is a chance it may be true.

Re: John Souttar

If he's away he's away.  If he's gone to them and he's signed a pre contract, personally I don't want to see him in a United shirt again.

The only thing that will interest me is how corrupt Scottish futba will be, coz if Charlie Telfer is worth £205,000 of a Development Fee with 15 minutes of futba in a League Cup tie for Deadco when the game was already over, what price John Souttar at 50+ games and International Honours?  The Chairman should state £3M as the starting point, especially if he's already signed for them, citing ARob and Gauld as the precedent, as you just know the Establishment Club will have designs for getting him for peanuts and the Establishment will do all they can to facilitate.  What happens there will determine whether there is any point in Scottish futba if you follow anyone other than the two arse cheeks.

Factor in the likes of Jason Holt costing the Ibrox club £65,000 after over 60 games for Hearts and experience down south with Sheffield United, with more than a dozen goals as well. Of course the system is set up in Favour of the cheeks.

Souttar is under contract until June next year, so I'd imagine if he's had contact with Celtic, then this is tapping. But they get away with everything anyway: see how the two clubs have been touting themselves to England recently, this undermining the Scottish game, yet nothing is done by the very authorities they are rubbishing.

Re: John Souttar

Tbh I don't really blame Souttar for wanting away. He's not really progressed since he first broke into team. We should have signed an experienced centre half to help him. Not Fojut btw as he was pretty average. Jackie was too quick to bin players. The amount of defenders we've signed and also released is disgraceful. It seems that he seemed to think thatch using dough at things was the answer. We now have the worst defence in the league and a squad full of kids.

What a time to be alive. I'd want to leave as well

I'm inclined to add that I sometimes wondered if every defender Jackie signed was mince, or if his set up helped make them mince. His track record with signings was awful bar a couple. Could also put a valid argument in to say all of the best performers under Jackie weren't any of his signings, were mostly Houston signings and youth system players.

The bulk of Jackie's actual signings confounds me, even to the point that I'm wondering if he was on a percentage for saving the Club money, when bringing players in? Nobody could be that bad at bringing in poor quality replacements unless they were benefitting from it in some way?

Wouldn't surprise me one bit tbh mate. Seemed to have a clause for everything other than being successful. Why a low basic and a high/very high win bonus wasn't acceptable at the time I dont know.

Now breaking in print with the Tullie picking up on this today.

No real detail/sources so hard to say if they've heard something from one of the parties or if they've spent a quiet afternoon surfing the interweb.

Re: John Souttar

This is a bad move for souttar, no doubt about it.

Look at the 3 amigos who went there - all 3 were  more influential to our team than souttar and all 3 are struggling to hold down a spot.

Souttar has not proved himself at united and without game time, his career will go backwards. Not that his career has moved forward with us - maybe stalled.

I'll be willing to bet that if he goes to celtic, he will be playing for inverness/killie/county/ st mirren  within 3 years.

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.
