If Shitey gets Northern Ireland to the Euros his managerial stock will rocket. He'll have his pick of jobs down South in the Championship at least. He'd be out of his mind to leave that and come to us or even take our job on a part-time basis. Imagine if he came to us then they didn't qualify? His reputation would be in tatters because he'd be blamed for taking his eye off the ball for them.
Don't shoot the messenger I'm just relaying what appears to have happened of course we wouldn't get him but you have to ask they can only say no . I imagine ST has asked quite a few that have said no . I'd aso hoe he has been in contact with levein as well

I'll be shocked if it is anyone other than McCall or Mixu.
Wright would be a gamble. He's not managed at anyone other than St Johnstone who run such a tight ship and have such an established squad that managers just go in there seemlessly. He's made incremental improvements to them which has resulted in their success. He's made McNamara look a right tit because Jackie was an arrogant cunt and came straight ahead rather than Wright being a top manager. If he came to us he'd really have to work hard on our goalie and back 4 as well as making us harder to beat, something he never had to do at St Johnstone.
If we are going to pay compo I'd go for Hughes. At least he's managed at a few clubs and got a 50/50 success rate ie succeeded at Falkirk and ICT and failed at Hartlepool and Hibs (and lets face it everyone fails at Hibs because they are still clinging to this idea that Mowbray was some sort of Messiah, even though they won fuck all with all these great young players who they then sold, sounds familiar).

Not really surprised to read or hear little hope or requests for psycho to be manager.
He isn't proven as a manager like some of the other 10 fellow squad players of his time playing for Utd. I wonder if this will change if things click under his temp job.
I loved his style as a player and is an all time favourite of mine.
He's up there for me with Luggy, Heggie, McInally, Narey, Bannon, Gallagher etc for being influential in good times.
He was probably always overlooked for praise in these times as anyone might rekon that they could have done his job kicking the opposition and getting stuck in as plenty of us older fans who support Utd did the same as amature players as it was the norm and what we were good at back then.
I played his position in the same style in the pub leagues and was only ever booked once or twice. We all know that this style could see you sent off 5 times in every match these days.
Would love it if he did well but can't even see him as a possibility.
Who knows though.
Hope the support give him a Psycho Psycho...Psycho Psycho chant at Partick for old times sake.

I'd take Evans every day of the week above Wright & Hughes, cannot see any the two of them coming to Tannadice so I'm safe enough.
Agree we this.
People like Hughes,Wright, and McCall will ALWAYS be available. A left field option like Evans however only crops up now and again.
The Rotherham fans were genuinely surprised and shocked that he's left them BTW. Well regarded down there.
He's my first choice by a fair bit now.
Think he'll end up at Peterborough btw.
Peterborough appointed Graham Westley

Scotsman now suggesting Alan Stubbs, don't think anyone except ST has a clue who the new manager will be

The longer there is silence (which I absolutely have no problem with) the closer we get to the Poland game and the more the likelihood is that it is McCall. If him, it is clear that it will not be announced before the Scotland game on Thursday night.

Please not Alan Stubbs.

Mixu now favourite again at 5/4.
The Bookies dinna hae a clue it seems.

You could do worse than to "Put a line on" Mixu!

The Stubbs link has came out of nowhere and the fact it's in The Scotsman has me thinking there's a bit more truth to it than if it had appeared in one of the red tops.
I think it'd be a bad appointment.
Not long in Management (like Jackie),strong Celtic connections (like Jackie),seems placid (like Jackie),his Hibs team bottled it when it mattered last season (like Jackie's teams).
Please no.

Not be happy if its stubbs i think tommy wright will get it
Don't know if this has been spotted before but John Hughes contract at ICT is up this summer so compo wouldn't be vast...would be a plus point for ST if he is considering him

That appears to be correct according to
His contract ends at the end of June 2016. I'm noting that the same site has Jim McIntyre's contract at Ross ending on 31st May 2016. Billy Dodds isn't listed as being under contract at Ross, opening the possibility (in my mind) of McIntyre coming to Tannadice and Dodds taking over the manager's position at Dingwall.
Good site that: here's McIntyre's management profile from there:

McIntyre has all but ruled himself out already Pat.
Said he's happy at Ross County and happy working under their Chairman etc.

I hope to Christ Dodds doesn't get it on his own.

Wouldn't expect him to say anything else TBH
Loved Jimmy Mac as a player but not sure if I fancy him as a manager yet.

If he was interested he wouldn't have commented at all I don't think Plumber.
Bit too early into his Managerial career for me too btw.
Maybe one day though.

Roy Keane 16/1 and Martin O'Neill 25/1 are now on Sky Bet's list to manage TWF.

Apparently the Alan Irvine story has surfaced in today's edition of the Hun so well done for a wee scoop there LAO.
Even if true you'd wonder if he'd be prepared to give up the remainder of his contract and it suggests he's had zero interest south of the border.
The Daily Ranger are reporting a £200k release clause in Hughes contract....Tbh I don't see that as a problem as Hughes would simply resign and at worst have to pay up the remainder of his contract (a lot less than £200k you'd think)......normally agreement is reached well before these things go to court and I think something similar happened with McCall and McNamara.

whoever ges the job the 1st task on day 1 is to sign a experienced keeper. for hes own good Zwick needs to be taken out of the firing line immediately. Nicky Weaver (36) is a free agent, im sure there are others out there a well.

Yep, deffo.
At the end of last season we needed an experienced gk, ch, cm with dig, winger with pace and cf. Despite signing 7 - 8 players we only got one of them eventually (McKay). All we did was add players that we didn't need. No planning, no effort to do any scouting. Disgrace.
