What is it that ICT are doing through their infrastructure that is helping their managers do so well that other clubs are not?  Why isn't everyone doing it?

Maybe they are fortunate in their northerly situation, close to the airport. They seem to benefit from a scouting system which brings in guys from England who are looking to build or rescue careers. They've got 14 Englishmen, 3 Irish, a Welshman, a Canadian, a Spaniard and a Congolese in their first team squad, according to wiki.

Is it easier to get to Inverness from say, Liverpool than it is to get to Dundee? It's all I can think of off the top of my head.

I'd add to that in that they all live in the Inverness area and aren't able to live wherever the fuck they like. We seem to have boys coming from Glasgow, Edinburgh every day, can they really get a feeling for the city and fans if they spend all week in St Andrews and only come to Dundee to play or get on a bus to an away game???

ICT are embroiled in the area and have to buy into the club completely when they sign.

Re: Next Dundee United Manager

Sky Sports:  McCall rules himself out of Motherwell job

quote at end of article direct from McCall: "McCall said: "Regarding Dundee United, a bigger club and fanbase wise, certainly a bigger budget, I think the third biggest in Scotland, good history, been in a couple of Scottish Cup finals of late, should be challenging for a European spot, so that might be one of interest."But if I'm honest, I'm really focused on a week tomorrow, which is Scotland playing Poland in probably our biggest game for years."

He is interested there clearly.  Lets make an approach please.  Id take him all day long!

Not really tbh. I'd take Tommy Wright. McCall bailed when going got tough at Well. He'd be forever on telly speaking about Sevco. If he was appointed he'd get my backing but thon hairdo? Christ almighty

Re: Next Dundee United Manager

I'm no further forward with who I want tbh. Well, no strictly true, I want Levein back. Wishful thinking I know.

Just want the best possible option. Anyone is gonna be a gamble.

If I was a betting man, I'd put my dosh on McCall getting appointed.

Understandable.  Love Glasgow once you get to the good parts, a lot better than it used to be.  Mind you, I took the wife to Ibrox when we beat them in the Cup before their admin was announced.  When you approach it from Carlisle it's like arriving in beirut or something like that.

Re: Next Dundee United Manager

I'm now thinking we are going to get either McCall or Yogi. Not sure which I'd prefer as they both have positives and negatives. Not taken with Wright always comes across a bit of a knob to me!

Re: Next Dundee United Manager

If we get Wright he'd sort oot that defence. That's what we need. It might not be pretty but we need that defence sorted pronto.

Re: Next Dundee United Manager

What I will say is. . . . . Steve Evans, been thinking about him. He has the pedigree, albeit down south, but he definitely has something about him.

Not saying we should go for him, but I think the possibility is worth exploring further.

Sometimes, you get rewarded for thinking outside of the box. Guys like McCall, Hughes, Mixu etc, have a short shelf life at one club and will continue to stumble from club to club for the rest of their careers. IMO.

Re: Next Dundee United Manager

McCall screaming for the gig, the fact that he hasn't been approached by now makes me think he's not on the short list, yet.

I think Michael O'Neill was the Chairman's fav but he's not interested, Presley seems to think he was offered it but I can't see that, maybe offered an interview and as the second choice last time that was the right thing to do.

I'm surprised Wright hasn't been approached and I think Hughes has been.

I would guess that Mixu, Hughes and one other will be interviewed for it.

I'm convinced now that Tommy Wright is the best man for the job.

There was chat on Radio Scotland tonight where Mark Wilson said that Hughes was the perfect fit and Graham Spiers said that Billy Davies was a great option.

I doubt that we'll ever have a manager that lasts more than 3 years ever again. Just the nature of game now. If they do well they go south. If they don't they get sacked.

See here's where me and you differ Hunted, I want a good manager with a good pedigree, that will improve my team. . . . . You want someone who, in your opinion, is not a cunt.

I think Tommy Wright is a cunt, wouldn't be disappointed to see him as our new manager tho.

Sounds to me like he's got exactly what it takes to sort us out.  He'd get us fit and organised for sure.  I'm only interested in can they do the job?  I'd have him in a heartbeat.  We need a hair dryer as a social worker did not work.

Billy Davies, Stuart McCall are a different level of cunt. There cuntishness is off the fucking radar.

Tommy Wright would do that and he'd be cheaper and doesn't frequent dodgy establishments with Tommy Sheridan.
