I wouldn't take any of those 3 right now tbh.
I have no idea who the next manager should be. Someone who has no connection with Celtic and Rangers/Sevco would do.

I'd prefer a Dundonian though.

That leaves Ian Cathro,Ray Mckinnon or Gary Bollan then.
Pretty straightforward.
Who's your choice?

Post 3.
He's done a decent job everywhere he's been, even Dunfermline where there were massive problems.

Whoever it is he needs to be a right hard task master to get the lazy bastards into shape and boot some arses. The likes of soapy and dicker have been shocking this season!

Hope we dont rush into finding a replacement in the next 2 days like we did when Houstie left. He left on the 28th January, and then 2 days later, on the 30th January, Jackie was revealed. I know it's important we find a replacement, but seriously hope it gets some careful thought.

I've said Mixu for a while but have to say I've been really impressed by everything Jim McIntyre has done since he started in Management.
If we're going to spend a reported £400k on sacking the current team I don't think we'll spend much in the way of compo on a replacement, which would rule a few out.
I would like Mixu, McIntyre, Hughes or most of all Wright, the latter three outwith iur budget perhaps.
Although it might be 6 months too early without a full season of full time football behind him the job Ray McKinnon has done at Lochee United, Brechin and Raith deserves consideration imo.
To add a random name that some won't know and no one else had mentioned as far as I know...
Eddie Wolecki Black as head coach under a DoF...

I reckon presley has got it in the bag tbh - he fits the bill for St..
- free : check
- history of bringing through kids : check
- apparently interviewed well last time round : check
Not the choice for me though..... probably worth doing some research into his time down south....

Oops.....apologies sir
I even remember checking back before I posted and not seeing him mentioned so I'll just have to fall back on blaming the beer...and the wine...that had been consumed (in moderation of course
) earlier in the evening.
FWIW the daily mail, while mentioning Elvis and Mixu, have Malky Mackay
and Yogi on our wanted list.
It comes from Mark Guidi though so he's probably just spent the night trawling social media for names....

Out of that lot McKinnon. I wouldn't be adverse to bringing in an old experienced manager to see us through until end of season. Steady ship and that.

Malay Mackay? If we give that racist cunt a job I'm not going back
It's going to be a long week.....'journalists' the length and breadth of Scotland are busy cranking the handle on their random manager generators even as I type.

Prseeley is definately not the answer.

It could be risky but I'd go for Andy Webster, knows the club, can organise a defence, has already managed us to a trophy.
Plus he is north of the Tay.

I like that thinking

Although we could do with someone a bit more experienced

Ray Mckinnon is not the answer imo.
If he wasn't a Utd fan from Dundee we wouldn't even be discussing him tbh.
Offline
No North of the Tay, but also must be South of the Kingsway though. That rules Webster out.

Haven't once heard Stuart Baxter mentioned yet.
Dissapointing.

Perhaps Stephen Thompson put Jackie and his crew on long contracts in the hope that someone would eventually come in for them and pay compensation.
With that thinking, the next appointment is possibly going to be someone he sees with potential to move on, therefore a younger guy. TBH I'm not excited by some of the experienced names mentioned, but I'd hope that applications are invited and we do get an experienced figure.

If we have a young team with bags of talent then a foreign manager would be a good shout say a foreign manager from the likes of holland or spain .
Offline
In cloud cuckoo land, but would love Levein back to steady the ship and for Dillon to get a shot at assisting him.
Never happen though.

Agree 100% bud, and would take it one stage further and say he was counting on Celtic doing so.

Rankin as caretaker. Knows the game, knows the league, knows our players and is liked and respected by them. Then keep him as assistant to whover is appointed manager. Stuart McCall?
Offline
It'll be Pressley IMO
