Dundee V's Dundee Utd - 21/9/14

Ok Derby next up.Dundee haven't lost a game yet and are conceding very few goals infact. This will be a very tough game i think.Total concentration and application required fae EVERY player.Guys like GMS,Rankin,Armstrong,Bilate and Dow really need tae take a game in the absence of Nadir Ciftci.

What team would you play and what's your prediction ?

......................................Czierniak...................................
Watson......................Morris........Fojut...................Dillon
.................................Paton........Rankin........................
                 Dow............Armstrong.......Mackay-Steven
.......................................Erskine...................................

Subs - Szromnik,Spittal,Bilate,Butcher,Wilson,Connolly,Telfer

Re: Dundee V's Dundee Utd - 21/9/14

I'd play Bilate then leave it to Jackie to pick 3 from 4 for offensive mids. If it was me, I'd be tossing a coin between Squiddy and Dowser.

Re: Dundee V's Dundee Utd - 21/9/14

it'll be

..................................Czierniak...................................
Watson..................Morris........Fojut...................Dillon
............................Paton........Rankin........................
                 Dow............Armstrong.......Mackay-Steven
.......................................Bilate...................................

although i canna see a player in Bilate yet...and the 4-2-3-1 is starting to get right on my tits...especially against teams that set up to soak up and hit wide....it fucks us right up

Probably will be the team.i'm not convinced by Mario at all.His positional play seems poor, never gets in good positions.Dare i say it he's let a better forward go on loan to one of our rivals. For this game i'd prefer to see Erskine given a shot upfront,as he's at least showed something this season.

Agree too regarding the 4-2-3-1.There still appears to be no Plan B.Teams have largely sussed us oot.Where is the ability to change the game other than throw on another forward for twenty mins ?If the midfield are getting outnumbered/outbullied we could throw on 4 forwards for all it mattered. No service = no goals.

Yip i'm still pee'd aff.

That'll be the team. GMS needs to work his arse off tracking Roberts. I'm shitting It.

Re: Dundee V's Dundee Utd - 21/9/14

paton n rankin have to be split with one on bench and play either of the two with a midfielder with bit of quality that moves the ball quickly and can hurt other teams why not give telfer a chance? we were desperate enough to take him from rangers chasing him for months so we must have rated him so lets give the boy a chance from start, but mcnamara will no doubt play paton n rankin as he is to scared to drop them despite both being extremely limited footballers

totally agree with that mate...like i said we need to change formation against teams that we close us down..which they will

a better shape would be

..................................Czierniak...................................
Watson..................Morris........Fojut...................Dillon
...............Spittal/Telfer......Armstrong.............Rankin....
.....................Dow.......................Mackay-Steven
.......................................Bilate...................................

Re: Dundee V's Dundee Utd - 21/9/14

Gomis should have been kept.

Infact he should have started the Scottish Cup Final.

Back to his best the last SPL game of the season, just 6 days before.

Some of Jackie's In/Out's leave me

This is my likely team for the game if Armstrong and Dow are fit if not Spittal to come in. We are good enough to beat them although it will be blood and guts first and we need to then earn the right to show out football ability and Morris needs to concentrate as some of the mistakes have been costly!

This apart from Squiddy if Stretch still out, with Spittal as impact sub.

He bossed the game at parkhead. Farid should've came on instead of Graham.

Think while Bilate was honking on Saturday, he will still keep Dundee's defence busy. Not keen on playing both Dow and Armstrong from the start, so would be happy with either Dow or Armstron starting but not both.
Erskine doesn't deserve to be dropped, in my opinion. If it wasn't such a massive game, would like to see Telfer getting a start in place of Paton, but not for a derby, we need discipline on the pitch and positionally Paton is very good at keeping his discipline.

Apologist as ever, but remember Bilate was recovering from food poisoning.

Re: Dundee V's Dundee Utd - 21/9/14

If he works hard and chases down, Amo Dow and GMS pushing forward then we'll give them problems. If we defend well we'll win.

Re: Dundee V's Dundee Utd - 21/9/14

Amo,Dow and GMS have to be the 3 imo.

Big headache as to who's upfront though.

I would play Erskine, but think it'll be Bilate.

Re: Dundee V's Dundee Utd - 21/9/14

I'd have Erskine, Amo and GMS as the three with Dowser up top (played striker before and more zip than Erskine).  Leave Bilate to come on as an impact sub when the game is stretched where he has looked best so far.  Rado, Paton and Rankin are on sticky wickets though.  If they are crap again on Sunday, I'd seriously consider giving Telfer or Scott Smith a start and replacing Rado between the sticks next Wednesday.

Too much commotion

Re: Dundee V's Dundee Utd - 21/9/14

.......Bilate.........

Dow.....GMS.....Amo.....Erskine.... Whatever 3 he goes with at least we'll have an impact sub.

Re: Dundee V's Dundee Utd - 21/9/14

Armstrong STILL not starting FFS.

UTD XI - Cierzniak, Watson, Morris, Fojut, Dillon, Rankin, Paton, Dow, Mackay-Steven, Erskine and Bilate

Subs - Szromnik, Armstrong, Smith, Spittal, Connolly, Telfer and Spark

Nae Centre Halfs on the bench, and only 1 natural defender fullstop Callum Butcher must be finished.

Not overly confident about today to put it mildly.

A good few needing to take a game.

Re: Dundee V's Dundee Utd - 21/9/14

If a centre half gets injured then Dillon goes there and Spark on at LB.

Not confident at all, backed United 3-1 but without Armstrong and Ciftci we've lost out two best players.

Re: Dundee V's Dundee Utd - 21/9/14

Full Time -
Dundee 1
Dundee United 4 (Bilate (pen),Dow,Morris,Watson)

Thoroughly professional display.

Paton,Dillon and GMS all excellent.Erskine,Rankin,Watson and the two Centre Backs also solid.

Only minor criticism is Bilate for me offers nothing.Took his penalty well but for me the movement was better once Spittal came on for him.

Anyway ,that's for another day.

WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE...SAY WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE !!!

Re: Dundee V's Dundee Utd - 21/9/14

What a result!!! Really wasn't expecting something quite so convincing.

I some how still haven't managed to get to a game this season, have to wait for Killie at Rugby park on the 3rd. Think it was the same for me last season but once the first one is in should be on a roll!
