Because the fan's have been telt for years fae ST, and the rest of Scottish fitbas hierarchy, that we now all need to be aware of the financial aspect of our clubs and how ultimately off field success ie. Balance sheets. Now control our game in Scotland.
It's this sort of talk that has stopped fans calling for signings and lowered the ambitions of fans as we are all reminded daily through the press that spending must be kept low in these "tough times".
If ST or the board wants us to support this "5 year plan" I expect they'll have to explain things a bit more, I want success on the park, and I'm not going to accept absolute mediocrity by the management and players in the name of finance, simply because I'm being told to go with it. If the board want my support they can lay out evidence of our finances, projections and how Jackie is going to play his part in this.
The silence is deafening and I personally am not going to sit and be told that it's all part of some master plan that no cunt had even heard about prior till about a fortnight ago. There'll always be peaks and troughs in football but If the club is going to ride through the good times with the fan's I expect them to put in the same effort when things are going shite.
Given this is true of Scottish fitba, never mind DUFC, it'd be absolutely madness not to consult the fan's on finances and the future. It's us who hold this league/club together, not some pissy TV deal which rewards us with a bar of Highland toffee and a glass Irn-Bru bottle we can return to the shops for 20p when we're finished with it.
We are the cash cow, and the cash cow should set the rules.
Does the cash cow set the rules for any other teams?
Do the man utd, Chelsea, Celtic, Aberdeen fans tell their board how to run the club?
Our fans are being unrealistic in their expectations.
The only fair grumble we have just now, and I agree with you on, is that the product on the park is poor. We'll see how that pans out. Saying the board aren't acting because they won't sack him isn't necessarily correct. They are just not acting the way fans want them to.
ST watched his old man spunk millions away by sacking managers, maybe after getting us on a stronger financial footing he doesn't want to go down that path.Well considering Man Utd fans actually went and built another club a few years ago, FC United of Manchester, when they weren't listened to by the board that's all you need to know.
Celtic fans are currently up in arms at their boards lack of investment, one look at their Facebook page or online forums will tell you that.
Aberdeen fans were not happy until the recent turnaround under Mcinnes and their very fortunate debt clearance, only made possible by a benefactor who had nothing to do with the board.
Chelsea are a team with an oligarch in charge who spend millions every year so quite the opposite of what's happening in Scottish football.
My grumble with the board is the severe lack of communication regarding the future, we used to get almost monthly "club statements" or ST in the press telling our fans how well we're doing and calling for this and that after we sold players in multi million pound deals.
Now we have total silence, limited reinvestment in the first team squad, a "general manager" who can't organise ticketing to a fucking cup game vs Dunfermline, a chairman who is MIA, more than likely in Australia, a manager blaming keyboard warriors for his own shiteness, a fan favourite youth coach suspended under questionable circumstances, and a team playing terrible football.
In 9 months we've gone from apparently challenging Celtic to getting challenged by a Dunfermline team 2 divisions below us. In that time we've heard nothing about plans for the future and how we build on top of our, apparent, strong position of soft loans.
You've just listed a bunch of scenarios exactly contradicting your point. Setting up a different club or having a demonstration isn't the cash cow directing the board. Going and starting a new team is about as opposite from that as you can get.

While the board aren't doing much in the way of communication, why would you care?
Being a fan is about supporting the team on the park, not about getting financial updates and consulted on the 5 year plan.
Our fans have been shocking at the games for months, yet we act like we are the best fans in the world.
I'm no fan of McNamara, but I'm getting sick of the constant complaining from fans who have been through a lot of good times recently. First sign of trouble and it's sack the board, we are a shambles etc.
When the George fox stand was built, I had to ask who George fox was, and I'd been a season ticket holder for over 10 years by that point. Why do people care so much about what the board has to say. The cost of a season ticket buys you entrance to the ground - no more, no less.
Not sure if you're being serious.
Why I'm bothered is that I've forked out £300 for a season ticket to watch MY team play football. At the moment they are not doing that at all well. Some might argue that we are not even getting to watch anything that resembles football. They seem to be going through the motions and if I'm being honest they entire club looks like it doesn't give a fuck.
I'm not asking for financial updates, I'm looking for the club to clarify what the hell they are doing to address the slump that we are going through. I'm looking for the club to assure me that I haven't spent £300 for the most half arsed football I've seen in years. I'm looking for the club to confirm that they are trying to rectify the whole sorry situation.
If you're happy to watch MY team merely turn up and roll over then that's your prerogative, but I want value for money, I want a team to be proud of, I want MY team to be back where they belong.
At the moment it looks like we have a team who would be happy to get one of those participation medals that get handed out to school kids for coming in last at a fucking egg and spoon race.
I don't want mediocrity, I want effort, desire and passion, something that appears to be lacking from the Chairman right the way down through the club. Where has the passion gone that ST had for the club 3 years ago when the The Rangers situation was happening? He defended the club to the hilt and wouldn't hear a bad word said about Dundee United. To me, I it feels like he can't wait to get out and that he couldn't care about the club at all, as long as he gets his wage.
For the record, where in my post did I say sack the board? Also for the record, the club IS a fucking shambles. It's also not the first sign of trouble. It's been in our face since February, but very little action has taken place to remedy it - what has been done appears half arsed and panicky to me, ie not signing players that would fit into the system the manager wants to play, forking out £150k of cash that we don't really have spare to sign a player who is punted out on loan 6 months later.... I could go on and on and on............ and on.
If the club want my money next season (and I know there are a lot of people thinking the same as me) they better sort their act out pronto or things will go into freefall.
I am being serious.
Your anger is Mia-directed.
It's not YOUR club, it's the club YOU support. £300 buys you the right to go and watch them.
we are not a shambles. We're going through a bad patch.
A shambles is admin, in fighting constantly in the papers, poison chalice of a job.
Hate to be in a foxhole with some of the drama queens on here.

We're poor ATM but rhetoric like, "we should be back where we belong", what does that actually mean. I'm not happy with the management or the way the club is being run but where do we "belong"? We, as a club spent the majority of out first 50 years in the lower leagues. Do we belong there? We have had an extremely poor 6 months performance wise after a good few years where we have done ok. We should be better. There should be better communication from the club. However, the rhetoric from day 1 from some has been all wrong.
Where we belong, to me isn't a league placing or a cup win. I'm not expecting us to win anything, if we do it is a massive bonus. I just want to be proud to say I'm an Arab, but the club are making that very difficult to say and mean just now.
Where we should be is a certain level of effort, a determination, an attitude of "if we're going to lose, those bastards are going to have to earn it".
At the moment we are none of that. Not even close. We're the fat kid that gets picked last in the playground kick about. We're effectively only there to make up the numbers.
Fight, passion and the right attitude is where we belong, IMO.
That's fair enough

You're having a laugh? Having a demonstration isn't the cash cow directing the board?
I'm going to assume you know very little about business, if my customers normally pay me for a service I can carry on making money by giving them said service.
If they decide they'd rather stand outside my business and demonstrate, or sit at home, I'm not going to make any money, I'm going to lose my job. I need to set up my business according to my customers wants, not my own.
My points are absolutely not contradictory, you compared my points to certain clubs all of which have entirely different scenarios to the other. Which instead of totally deflecting my point like you have, I actually tried to make sense of.
Some amount of strawmanning going on here.

I wasn't even there and I am actually shaking with anger. Just fucking go. Surely the Motherwell boys sacking has to force the boards hand?

Or I could bury my head in the sand or just go against what is actually happening and deny the shit state of affairs that we are in with no identifiable plan to stop the rot just to provoke arguments.
If you're happy with things then that's your prerogative. Me I'm seeing things exactly how they are and we're on a very slippery slope.
