Rugby World Cup

Not a huge Rugby fan by any means. But have fond memories of watching Scotland get to the (Semi Finals?) of the '95 WC in South Africa.Twenty year ago btw ..Wow

Our first game is against Japan who just beat South Africa today. So maybe not the easy game some would have predicted.

Re: Rugby World Cup

It was some finish. Japan just wouldn't accept defeat. Some amount of ringers in their team though who looked like their only experience of Japan was a meal in thon Kobi restaurant in the Seagate.

Too much commotion

Re: Rugby World Cup

Dinna get me started on the Japan team. I'll cheer on the fitba team every time unless they're playing Scotland but that rugby team is a joke. Got mates here who've struggled like ferk to get visas even after marriage and these guys stroll in no bother. Pretty ironic considering Japan has one of the lowest numbers of foreigners in the modern world. Hope they get pumped every game.

I had the EA Sports Rugby World Cup '95 game for my megadrive. Was similair to the FIFA games of that era. Also I think Gavin Hastings set a record that year for the number of points scored in a either a rugby match or a world cup rugby match. Maybe against Fiji or something like that.

Re: Rugby World Cup

Scots did well. I don't keep tabs on rugby so no idea if that was a good score/performance for Scotland but the french lads I'm with at the moment who know their stuff think we played well

Re: Rugby World Cup

Wales fucking deserved that btw.

England were cruising to victory with about 10 mins to go and then became nonchalant and started adopting spoiling tactics and generally wasting the play and time.

Suffered the classic suckerpunch at the death, and IMO underestimated a good side in doing so.

John Inverdale looked destroyed afterwards.Which is nice.

There will be many "greeting" pusses on here come the summer.  You know you're a bit twitchy about it as well!

Re: Rugby World Cup

More chance of me winning the euro millions, buying DUFC and reappointing Jackie as manager than England winning the Euros.

Rugbys  been decent so far, Wales superb 2nd half yesterday.

Re: Rugby World Cup

Scotland - Samoa game was bloody great.

Never thought i'd get as enthused about a Rugby match as that.

This World Cup's been a decent watch at times tbf.

Re: Rugby World Cup

I do like an international game of rugby, couldn't be arse with having a club side though.

Been to see Scotland a few times at Murrayfield and a couple of times in Cardiff, Cardiff especially is one of the best sporting experiences you can ever have.

Any sport you can drink alcohol whilst watching it live is tremendous.

Ice Hockey
Baseball  (don't laugh, it's a great day out)
Rugby

Football is miles behind most minority sports in the UK.
