Both to be inducted into the DUFC Hall of Fame.

McLaren well deserved, outstanding in 94 cup final and also pivotal in play off against thistle.
Miller I would agree with as well. You could question his attitude and fitness at times, and you can't compare him to the real legends like Narey, Sturrock, Hegarty, Malpas etc, but for a while he was the only footballer worth watching in a dire spell for us.

Loved watching them.
I think we'll all remember Andy for his part in the equaliser against Partick in the play off .
Charlie was one of the main reasons we didn't go down during 2000/2001 and was great in Ian McCall's first full season. Just think what a great player he would have been if he hadnae liked a bevvy so much...

I'm not sure he's deserving of it either.
More a 'cult hero' than a bona fide 'legend'.
But then i'm probably a tad bitter cos he gave me the run-a-round regards doing a Q+A on here.
Andy McLaren is more deserving of it and what a player he was on his day.Terrific old school winger.
I think 4 at a time is maybe too many inductees tbh.We don't have that many 'legends' afterall and you don't want to end up devaluing the whole concept.

It got devalued when Lee Wilkie got in.

Miller was good player. No fucking danger he should be anywhere near a Hall of Fame

And Alan Main IMO.
Again more of a 'cult hero' for me.
All about opinions mind.

Correct me if I'm wrong but is it arabtrust members who vote for the players to be inducted?

Below is a straight cut and paste job from the Hall of Fame on United's main site.
"The Dundee United Players’ Hall of Fame was established in 2008, with the first inductees being chosen by means of a popular vote amongst supporters. Several hundred supporters took part in this vote through the Club’s weekly enewsletter, with each of those taking part nominating five players.
As a result of this, plus the deliberations of the Hall of Fame Committee, seven legendary former players were inducted at the inaugural Hall of Fame Dinner in January 2008.
Since then this annual event has witnessed more Club legends inducted in to the Hall of Fame based on criteria including career achievement, service recognised, landmark occasions and cult/iconic status. More recently in 2014, ArabTRUST who have sponsored each of the event from 2008 have inducted a fan’s favourite selected by Trust members into the Hall of Fame."

If Charlie Miller is the Arabtrust 'fans favourite' nomination then fair enough.
As he was by far our best player for about three years during the horrific early noughties.

Miller and Jim McIntyre basically carried the team for about 4 years but I'm really not sure about them as Hall of Fame material. McLaren at least won a cup (pity he was suspended in 1997, we could've done with him that day).
I loved Charlie as a player but you started to get the sense that he turned it on whenever his contract was coming to an end. Hmm.

Is the whole thing just a way to get income into the club?

My thoughts exactly

Seriously, Charlie Miller.
Fuck me, fuck me sideways.
Really?
This is as much a minter as selling Segfried and Roy in February.

Basically, yes.

Normally fly up for it, was good last year when wee jum got inducted but feel it's going for quantity rather than quality these days!
Where did you lads see this ? is the list out yet?

Know what I also don't like?
When a player who's on loan for about 10 minutes, gets capped and goes on the board of Internationals on the wall in the ET stand.

Cheers Tek gonna wait and see who else is nominated before deciding this year, the word Legend seems to have lost much of its currency these days
