Erskine out - osteo pubitis - going in for an op.

Never heard of it, so looked  it up.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osteitis_pubis#Symptoms

From that article:

"The Australian Football League has taken some steps to reduce the incidence of osteitis pubis, in particular recommending that clubs restrict the amount of bodybuilding which young players are required to carry out, and in general reducing the physical demands on players before their bodies mature.Osteitis pubis, if not treated early and correctly, can more often than not end a sporting individuals career, or give them an uncertain playing future."

Now, how often have we heard criticism of our young players with the solutiom being 'get down the gym'?

And the second part: I don't have great faith in our medical perfomance over the past few years, so should Erskine seek independent help?

And in fairness to Dow (after having had a pop at last week's performance) he was just back after a layoff and had missed a good chunk of pre-season so was bound to be a bit rusty and off the pace.

On reflection he was by no means the worst performer in the second half against Killie (he was pish in fist half tho)

Re: DUFC v ICEY TEA - Saturday 19 September 2015 @ 1500 hrs

Dow had actually played well 2nd half until the horror miss.  Granted he was totally annonymous first half though.

I'd go for same as last week tbh with the only change being Bodul in for McKay if he is injured.

Too much commotion

Re: DUFC v ICEY TEA - Saturday 19 September 2015 @ 1500 hrs

I would have Durnan in at the back and bring back Souttar into midfield.

                                 Zwick
McGowan       Morris        Durnan            Dillon

Fraser            Souttar        Kuhl               Rankin

                                 Bodul

                                 Mckay

ICT will try and win the game in the first 20 min we need all the height and strength we have on the park at the start.
For their own good Dow and Spittal need a break, niether of them, particularly Dow  give the fullbacks any cover. We need a far more defensive outlook against ICT to have any chance.

I swithered as to put Souttar in the team or not but find these type of physical matches he performs poorly in.

He normally plays well ironically against the better sides like Aberdeen and Celtic because they allow you more time on the ball and it's more of a football match.

Other than that looks a good XI for me.

Re: DUFC v ICEY TEA - Saturday 19 September 2015 @ 1500 hrs

I know we did it last season in a match (maybe the first after 02/02/15) with 4x holding mids, but if we ever line up at home against the likes of Caley with only 2 attacking/creative players in our Starting XI, I think that would maybe just tip me over the edge!!!

F all faith in Jackie to get a result regardless of the team he puts out. That's what I'm going for from the random team generator

Re: DUFC v ICEY TEA - Saturday 19 September 2015 @ 1500 hrs

3-5-2 only really works if you have wingers who are full of energy and can provide cover at the back.  We dont have the personnel for that system.  Same because I love a good 3-5-2.

I like it, start with 10 men, lull them into a false sense of security and then fire on Fraser while theyre not looking?!!!

Your not seeing the bigger picture - with morph's system we'd get to bring on an extra sub which would confuse the fuck out of big Yogi

Re: DUFC v ICEY TEA - Saturday 19 September 2015 @ 1500 hrs

Don't see JM changing things much and while a formation change might benefit the defence I'm not sure i'd risk a new formation right now so for me;

                Zwick

McGowan   Durnan   Morris Dillon

             Fraser   Kuhl

Dow      Telfer    McKay

              Bodul

With our lack of width we need good passes through to the forwards and Telfer is probably the player who can unlock their defence for us.

Put up plenty of great posts and no one comments. Accidently put 10 men in your starting line up once and everyone is on you.

You're clearly all keyboard warriors, it's fine lines and fine margins between having 10 or 11 men on your Tekel Towers team sheet

Sorry Morphman - I hadn't noticed the earlier post highlighting your wee omission - was just a wee bit of banter on my part but might have given the impression was jumping on you there.

Apologies if you thought I was having a go

Nah mate I was joking haha, just using the Jackie Mac book of excuses to deflect attention from my mistakes.

These excuses include "keyboard warriors",  "thin lines and margins between victory and defeat", "learning curves" etc etc.

I need to be more streetwise when picking my starting XI or starting 10 in future ;)

GOLD! I want a keyboard warrior badege made up so I can wear it to games.

Btw, we actually played no bad against them when we went down to 10 men back in February/March 1-1 draw. One of the better performances post Fran and Anna sales. We actually showed a bit of fight  (shocked) and guess what? The fans responded with a rousing ovation at the end!
