Scotia's young generation get the chance tae grill Dode Galloway.
I'll gee it 5 minutes.
Went to see Dode's "Just say Naw" at the Whitehall a few months back. I hadn't been able to think of one reason to vote naw, usually vote after weighing up pros and cons, and I'm a great fan of his generally so thought he would come up with something I hadn't considered. Imagine my disappointment when he trotted out a series of tenuous scare stories that Ally Darling would've cringed at.

One of the most eye opening things in this 2 year process for me has been what i regard as the utter betrayal of Scotland by high profile Scots MP's who are represented in the HoP.
Whatever your political allegiance (and i have never had any great leaning towards anyone previously tbh) you always hoped, expected and maybe (in my case) naively asumed even that Scots like Gordon Brown,Jim Murphy,Alistair Darling,Liam Fox,Douglas Alexander,George Galloway etc had Scotland's interests at heart and would at least attempt to make sure our interests were fairly represented in London.
What has become abundantly clear is that NONE of these high profile Scots politicians give a fuck about the common man, woman and child in Scotland. They don't act for us.They don't care about us.
They act+care only for/about themselves.
Shameful the fucking lot of them.Scotland DESERVES better politicians than these self-serving bastards, and we are all slowly realising it.I sense a sea-change coming in the political spectrum.Superb post.
What saddens me is it's always been the case and alternative options were always available but ignored until the present movement seemed to engage voters in a focussed way not generally experienced in party political elections.
Long may it continue for future Scottish Parliaments.Oh and Bugs i forgot the biggest culprit of the lot.Fuckin "Lord Robertson of Port Elen".
A fucking arsehole of the very highest order, who clearly done whatever it took to climb the greasy poll to attain that peerage.
Anyone remember his shameful interview of about 18 months ago when he said 'Forces of Darkness' would love an Indy Scotland. He also almost spat out with disdain and contempt the view that the US (his new home) had only stayed neutral (at that point March 2013) in Scottish Independence because they had 'no belief whatsoever that it would ever happen'.Well Obama threw in his tuppence worth just a year later so that must have been an indication that Westminster were very rattled eh ?.
Listen to the utter contempt he has when he says the word 'Scotland' and when he talks of 'Nationalists'.Listen to the anger and belligerence in his tone when he is even remotely grilled by John Mackay. He had clearly become in his own eyes one of the 'Elite' who had became untouchable.A wee guy fae Edinburgh tae.Just shows you what throwing champagne, caviar+a title can do to some i suppose.
Scotland deserves so much better than these horrible self-serving career politicians/Lords who live off OUR money and treat us like the shit on their shoe.
Amazing how seemingly principled people get sucked into the pig's trough. At least we won't be "promoting" any MSPs to the House of Lords from future Scottish parliaments.

Had a lot of time for his Socialist/International stance, but fuck knows what's happened to him since the referendum was announced.

Horrible cunt of a man.
Bear in mind this is the man who says its okay to rape someone if you've had sex with them before.
That you don't need both parties to consent if you've slept with them previously.

Been in Norway for a couple of days so have thankfully missed most of the shite that's been flingged our way.
I'm still upbeat, if we go into next Thursday with a 47% share of middle class opinion polls I'll be delighted.
PS I can report that there are still shops and banks in Norway, despite them being an oil rich independent country.

Heard a very interesting story tonight.
In a taxi and get talking about the referendum etc as it became clear the driver was in the same camp as me.He mentions that he didn't believe the polls that were being produced as just about everyone he knew was voting Yes,same as myself i reply to him.
He than tells me that he decided to carry out his own poll and marked 100 envelopes fae 1 tae 100 and put a wee slip of paper in each yin.He then asked the next 100 folk in his taxi if they would mind taking part in his secret ballot, not to write a reason why or anything, just to say yes or no.
Once the 100th envelope had been filled in he went home to count them.
97 YES
2 NO
1 Undecided
I have no reason to dibelieve the guy.Should we believe these polls that are being produced ?I am highly dubious of them personally.

I've heard a few stories like that mate, random 100 sample street polls and every one has been 95%+ Yes.
Obviously the vote on Thursday won't be like that but the one thing I cling to is the new registered 1m voters, the majority from the working poor, they are not registering to vote No.

My belief also,Andy.
People cannae be voting for the 1st time ever (in a lot of instances) to keep the status quo.Shirley ??

I'm a yes man but am shitting it the media and scare tactics will work on the old and young voters. I am hopeful the people on the streets are not taken in with it. Without being too hot on who actually take part in these polls I have never been asked what my thoughts are!
Also I take it the media debates audiences are more 'staged' to allow both sides to comment?
Really not looking forward to the next few days as it's going to be all one sided in the media and not for the Yes side!!

Good point, I actually had a call from my neither young nor old staunchly YES daughter last night to say she was worried as she was being slightly swayed by the scare stories this week. Few words of wisdom and a couple of youtube clips and all is well, but the potential effect of utter bollocks is very alarming.

I've lost the plot regarding the vote. Can't really think about much else.
Hope to fuck it's a Yes vote

Pah....
The No campaign much of the time has been that bad, it is as though they are trying to insult peoples intelligence, turn people against them and lose on purpose. =12.7272720336914pxThe Scotland that I know is so overwhelmingly YES that it is going to take electoral fraud for the No campaign to win. I know and talk to people in Perth, Dundee, and when I am at work, from all over (but mostly the North East). There are literally only 2 people who I can think off who are voting NO. One of them who I know personally, and another who I have heard off. My own experience of the coting intention of the general population falls very much into line with the 95% Yes - 5% No results of these informal polls mentioned above.
If the No's win, then there will have been electroral fraud as far as I am concerned.

That's the beauty of academic social science, it's fact, or should that be FACT, until another academic disproves or picks holes in it based on alternative evidence.
Still waiting.
Surprised that an institution like BBC, with their duty to customer care, aren't even recording complaints of bias on the referendum.

I hope your right MTC although my slight worry is that historically the north east is very much an SNP / Independance minded area it's the oil rich sheep and the further south you go they may have more connection to England without thinking this about this as an opportunity to break free from the armpit of westminister!

Not long now so I'll better go over my checklist.
A futile electoral vote, or a vote that counts? Check.
Trident, or hospitals and schools? Check.
True NHS, or privatised HS? Check.
Prosperity and growth, or debt and austerity? Check.
High speed train from Brum to London, or a living wage for working poor? Check.
Oil revenue for the millions, or a tax break for millionaires? Check.
Freedom, or subservience? Check.
Sorted, but that was the shortlist.

Feel like a kid on Xmas eve tonight, just hope Scotland delivers.
It won't solve all our problems overnight but it sure as hell gives us a far better chance of doing so. Jobs for the young, NHS, No UKIP, A positive future and Real democracy for Scottish people.
Are we there yet????
