Re: Quick yes or no poll

There would appear to be no evidence to back up Bugsy's claims, we are definitely not a lean mean fit machine and the opposite is nearer the truth.

Our tactical set up is as good as Erskine's fitness.

As for the diet being looked after does that include the dominos pizzas on the team bus after games?

I've seen a number of references to United players eating pizza on a bus home recently, not sure when it relates to but I guess by the total outrage it seems to have produced that it might be the Hamilton hammering?

I can't see the problem with the players eating pizza as their post match meal, they need to get as many carbs and calories in as possible after playing and that's a quick and easy way to do it.

If we beat Killie 7-1 tomorrow and the team have a pizza after it will there be the same outrage?

Sure professional athletes can't eat pizza every day but considering Messi, Neymar, Suaraz, Iniesta, Busquets, Pedro, Jordi Alba and others have a pizza as their post match meal after every Barca away game I'm not that bothered that Charlie Telfer and John Souttar do the same.

There's a whole load of stuff, in conjunction with the Uni, on sports science, conditioning, diet etc then football related stuff like awareness training. There's certainly things being done at St Andrews that you wouldn't see on other training grounds.

Now, there's a cue for any doom and gloomer critic. 😉

Question: If we are doing all this advanced sports science stuff on conditioning, why do we look like the most unfit team in the league? Why are John Souttar and Charlie Telfer looking about half a stone to a stone overweight? Why is Chris Erskine STILL breathing out of his arse after an hour in games? Why are we the slowest team in the league?

Agree, its all lip service from Jackie.

He contradicts himself all the time about his sports science practice's, just like he does about formations, tactics, opposition etc.

IF we were utilising all that the University has to offer, learning and practising all these innovative techniques and still performing like we have for the last 9 months we would be as well jacking in St Andrews and training up at Fairmuir.

If ur doing a sports diet plan to maximise fitness as has been hinted at, the 24 hrs before and after games are the most important and they don't involve pizza in that timescale.  Personally more concerned with how they play than what they eat, but think this whole innovative thinking suggestions doesn't seem to be the case.
