Re: Quick yes or no poll

Sorry to say it really, but has to go. Was unsure about him fairly early on but the one that sealed it for me was when he kept Morris on when he was totally fekd with injury, ie couldn't even hobble about, thus losing us the game at the Fermers ground last season. That was utterly ludicrous.

A lot of things since then indicate that he really just doesn't have it I am afraid. United job just too big for Jackie.

Best to just walk away with his background staff. Really do not want United to pay anymore to them.

Problem is though, who the fek else is there to take over? Not a lot of decent candidates out there possibly Jimmy Mac who has worked well at Par/QOS and Coonty, but probably too early for him.

Difficult situation all this.

Re: Quick yes or no poll

Like many other on here I have now hit the get rid button. Totally agree with a lot of what has been said by the majority. I find most posters on here are more than open to giving the manager time to sort out the issues but looking at what the issues are, I cannot see how JM can turn things around now.
 My main issues are:

Lack of fitness of the players, how Erskine canny last 90mins by now is unreal , we continually look yards off the pace and without fail players who have left say they have never been fitter about three months after leaving our club.

Continues to bring in U21’s and hopes they can magically cope with the physicality of the SPFL with no first team experience.

Unable / unwilling to change the 4,5,1 system even when it’s blatantly obvious it’s not working in games.

Continually bleating on about game management in interviews and being naïve at time – Well see point 2 Jackie!!

The centre half’s since he has been in charge have been a shambles, no matter what two he chooses each and every game is a bomb scare. We’re like a fucking quality street, Chocolate down the sides and soft in the centre!!

Transfers – continues to panic buy on the final day, his ‘big’ signing for Christmas last year is now out the door, botched Allan approach that same day. We’ve seen the issues for Months Jackie, the defence is a shamble, your midfield is weak as piss, and McKay should have been tied up before the season started not waiting until the shit from the fan is blowing back in yer puss!!

Rant over but safe to say I’ve lost confidence slightly. However like TEK said I would happily eat humble pie if he turns it round as all I too want is my club to be winning games or even just putting in reasonable effort would be a start!

Re: Quick yes or no poll

Its actually worse for Jackie than i thought it would be,just as well he does not do social media.I would say this board would be a fair reflection of the broader United support too.

I'd happily let him run down his contract -which was extended 18months ago to boys doing cartwheels in the Whitehall Theatre -now same boys want him emptied.

how things change and how fickle people are.

Who replaces him? Affordable? Fucking Stuart McCall -don't want that hun cunt anywhere near.

I want him, but agree with the rest of your post 100%.

What pleases you about Jackie Bugsy?
Is 15 points out of 63 acceptable to you?

What attracts you to Ed's nightmare?

Attraction/aversion is all relative.

To start with, we (you and me) shouldn't be debating JMac because we're poles apart. FWIW I think he's done a lot of innovative stuff behind the scenes at St Andrews to make our team better, despite restrictions and limitations, and your alternative scares me.

Better to agree to disagree?

My alternative???

Also you think we under JM are heading in the right direction?

Surely the whole debating thing is to have people with different opinions is it not ?

Hate to assume, but under the weight of of evidence, I thought you may want change leading to Ed's scenario.

Already answered the second, including qualifications.

What do you mean by "innovative stuff" bugsy? I've not heard of him introducing anything innovative but maybe you've heard something I've not.

Re: Quick yes or no poll

There's a whole load of stuff, in conjunction with the Uni, on sports science, conditioning, diet etc then football related stuff like awareness training. There's certainly things being done at St Andrews that you wouldn't see on other training grounds.

Now, there's a cue for any doom and gloomer critic. 😉

Question: If we are doing all this advanced sports science stuff on conditioning, why do we look like the most unfit team in the league? Why are John Souttar and Charlie Telfer looking about half a stone to a stone overweight? Why is Chris Erskine STILL breathing out of his arse after an hour in games? Why are we the slowest team in the league?

If all that is the case, it's an absolute mystery.

Re: Quick yes or no poll

For all the innovation, I also noticed Jordan Moore looking like he could lose a few pounds from the film of his hat trick performance at Glebe Park.

Mmmm you might want to reconsider and exempt him from that Pat, as that COULD be related to steroid medication for his Big C fight?  Let's focus on the positives of him scoring a hat trick instead?  But there are plenty who could up their game!  I think Soapy is gonna be the first to see the need to up his game and workrate; as I think the cool David Luiz/Carlos Valderrama hybrid is gonna come in and show him all what's needed in that holding role!

At the end of the Azone clip when the manager was asked about Jordan's chances of getting into the 1st team after scoring 3 v deadco development he openly said a final comment on Jordan's fitness being good but needing to work on sharpness and getting body shape down. Wasn't a critical statement, mair factual.  Think Fooky T is on the button there. Manager didn't come across as saying anything other than supportive or factual.
Few players chubby and he widnae down them publicly.  Think Jordan is getting closer to the first team than I expected.

Re: Quick yes or no poll

I never mentioned Jordan Moore for that reason, his situation is totally different from the likes of Souttar and Telfer who look like they live on cookie dough and Nandos.

Jordan Moore took his goals well btw. He could be about to prove us all wrong. He looks like he's got a lot sharper than against Arbroath pre-season.

Re: Quick yes or no poll

Re Jordan Moore, sorry if my comments offended, I wasn't trying to appear ignorant of his treatment. I was unaware that steroids were extensively used in dealing with skin cancer, however.

Re: Quick yes or no poll

The thing about all this innovative sports science stuff is its only any good if the overall fitness is very good in the first place. Looks to me that generally across the squad that isn't the case.  Bottom line is some boys don't work hard enough and the management continually allow it.

As for the diet being looked after does that include the dominos pizzas on the team bus after games?

Absolutely no offence on my part Pat, as I know from your posting style that would never have been your intention.  I was merely speculating about possible mitigating circumstances.  I'm no oncologist and I know nothing about specific cancers, so maybe you're correct and steroids are not used for skin cancer.
