Re: Stevie campbell

Almost a month on and still no news from the club.

How long does it take to carry-out an investigation ?

The cynic in me thinks the powers that be are waiting until we get a good result so we can bury his sacking under the wave of relief and good feeling.

^^^^this.
We must have a non playing staff of less than 50.
An investigation should have taken 1 week, 2 at the very most.

I have a bad feeling about the outcome.

Re: Stevie campbell

I have been told he won't ever be back at Tannadice, certainly not as long as Jackie and his crew are still there 😐

Some fans are already in that boat.

It's certainly a mess, and in my experience of folk being suspended for alleged indiscipline, the longer this is left unresolved by an employer, the less likely the individual is of being guilty.

In short, it's likely that if there was any great substance to the reason he was suspended, he would have been officially booted weeks ago.

Our general manager or whatever his title is on holiday at the moment.

Wonder if he's in the 'Southern' hemisphere with Thompson.

This situation doesnt smell right to say the least. The longer it drags on the more suspicious you get.

It's obvious this is a stitch up but a lot of fans know the real story

It appears to me that the off field staff at Tannadice spend far too much time on holiday these days,is it any wonder we are a complete basket case at the moment?.

Would you rather the general manager went on holiday during the transfer window or after it?

Poor boy needs a holiday at some point

Not sure about the 'poor boy' comment but aye it's the best time for him to take his holiday during International week.

Re: Stevie campbell

This link says that Stevie's hearing will be early next week.

The main thread of the story however is that we've targeted John Potter from the Pars to take over from Stevie.

Re: Stevie campbell

Now that Jackie+Co are away do you think we'll see a swift return to Tannadice for Soupy C?

Re: Stevie campbell

There will still have to be a tribunal. Is the reason that the tribunal not happened by now not because Campbell is on the sick? Sure I read that somewhere

Yeah yeah Industrial Estate

Re: Stevie campbell

Yep on ArabZONE basically ongoing and going through the appropriate process in a legal aspect and no timeframe to when an outcome might come. Did say they are doing things right for the club and also SC.

Hopefully they can get this sorted sooner rather than later for all concerened

Fair enough, its the last thing that's left up in the air.  I'm less bitter about this knowing that there is now surely 0% chance that Jackies staff can influence this.  If indeed they were.

hope to see him back.

Re: Stevie campbell

Latest from the Courier today is "that the chances of him returning to his post are extremely remote"

Continuing to tip John Potter as his replacement in the same article

Fae STV-

http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/dundee-united/1332438-dundee-united-accept-resignation-of-youth-chief-stevie-campbell/

In a statement, Dundee United said: "Following the statement issued on behalf of Stevie Campbell on Sunday 8th November, the Board of Dundee United Football Club can confirm that it has accepted his resignation.

"The board is disappointed that Mr Campbell chose to resign with immediate effect rather than attend an internal meeting to consider the club’s concerns scheduled for yesterday morning (Wednesday 11th November).

"The board note the suggestion that Mr Campbell may raise proceedings against the club in an Employment Tribunal. His allegations are entirely rejected and the club will robustly defend any claim if required to do so."
