That's him gone. Prob for the best if there is to be any chance of the club opening up dialogue with the fans groups. Also hearing chat that this whole situation has been the final straw for Gordon Deuchars.

The Fed statement doesn't lend itself to any harmony being created.

Re: TEITR

Agree Pat. Between that and the statement at the weekend regarding the fed chairman, you would think they don't want to sort things out.

Re: TEITR

Glad that the guy has resigned. Regardless of how it was leaked, he was in the wrong.

Interesting point about Gordon Deuchars. I was thinking how all this might look to future investors.

Re: TEITR

I'm not a member of Fed so if they feel that statements like that represent their members then fair enough. Can't help think though that it will not help heal things with club and its support and I reckon we better buckle up for a few months more of shite flinging

I'm not a Member of ArabTrust.

I'm not a Member of a Supporters Club.

I'm just an Arab that's heart is broken with all this shit (on both sides).  It's almost akin to ISIS blowing up all these historic sites and temples, but with my football team instead.

Re: TEITR

Not A member of AT or fed either, don't agree with sending the texts he did, but feel sorry for the guy, he's done it because he cares. TBH the thought of texting ST some home truths had crossed my mind aswell but That's just heat of the moment stuff. Can only say keep ur chin up, we all make mistakes, at least yours were because you cared.

Having said that I do think it's the right decision to go as hopefully it will allow every party to move forward with communication if nothing else, doubt it tho.

Re: TEITR

I am totally gutted for P,by the way i have had my ups and downs with him over many years and although we have shared many a bus and pint we are not close friends. What i will say is he has worked thousands of hours unpaid on behalf of our great club and he has been shafted by a man who has worked half of Ps hours but been very well paid for his time.

The difference between the 2 men involved in this dispute is this, one of them was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and can basically do what he likes with our club, the other was brought up working class and reached probably the pinnacle of his life being chairman of the Fed.I feel so f ucking sorry for him and if Thompson thinks he is out of the woods with this he has got another thing coming.

here here tbf GB.  Gutting to see a United supporter slapped accross a paper like that by actions taken by the very club he supports.  My opinion like.

so you wish for this whole sorry affair to be dragged out more? It's to nobody's benefit.

Re: TEITR

Dont think anyone wants it to drag on any longer creme but sadly there is only 1 side that has been chasing discussions to no avail for months. Are we supposed to just give up?

Re: TEITR

Here was me hopin that the Club could draw a line under this, given that Chairman has stepped down. But I've a funny feelin that it's more likely there's been lines drawn in the sand. (Bondi Beach ?)

Thompson who clearly does not give a flying f uck about United anymore has hung a boy out to dry who lives and breathes for our club. The chairman of DUFC clearly has a problem with its supporters and until he stands down there will always be division because it was his arrogance that caused the problem in the first place.

Re: TEITR

I think on some level supporters groups are always trying to hold their club to account.  This is playing out publicly due to some very real issues/concerns which frankly im glad I learned about even if they do p1ss me off.

I think the hope is that a dialogue leads to a resolution so that these sort of checks and balances can once again go on behind the scenes.  Doesnt help when the club is also running to the papers.

Dont think this will end soon but it WILL end.  Stevie Campbell will be next shoe to drop id assume

Re: TEITR

Cannie really understand your post L,i am not in the FED or the Trust i just support my team same as you mate.My honest opinion is P cares about DUFC and ST has lost all interest.Again mate its only my opinion but the wrong man stood down today.

I adored Eddie Thompson and im not asking to get rid of the Thompson family just his errant son,i would be over the moon if his mother took charge tomorrow she couldna do any worse than him mate.

Maybe just back off for a bit. Let the tensions ease.

Re: TEITR

It does have to end. What is the end game though?

Is it Thompson out?
Is it Jackie out?
Is it both out?

I want Jackie out btw. I wouldn't be upset if Thompson left either tbh. Not worried about Jackie going because we're still a relatively big club in the grand scheme of things in Scotland and we'd get someone else. Who replaces Thompson though? His family own more than half the club do they not? Is his sister taking over? Is there a buyer lined up to take over? What happens when whoever takes over makes a decision that folk don't agree with?

Do we go through all this again?

Yeah yeah Industrial Estate

Not trying to stir G. Just utterly fucked off with everything that's going on mate. Just want an end to it all. I think what will eventually will happen is the sister will take over but I think since the sale of the 2 boys to Celtic emotions have run really high amongst support and we all could do from stepping away from it for a bit letting the dust settle and see what happens

Re: TEITR

Id be well overstepping my bounds if I tried to answer any of that from a Fed/AT perspective.  From their end they have been seeking a dialogue with the Club to address the concerns they have which I think is fair and I have many of the same concerns based on whats come to light.

I dont think it has to end in ST being gone but he seems to me to have contempt for a section of our support just now which is no way to act.  I reckon it's petulant frankly.

For me, I'm wrestling to keep focused on the football which is depressing enough.  See, im 33 years old and this is honestly the first time i've ever really concerned myself with matters off the park.  So I dont think this is a merry go round where this will just keep happening.  There are things I take issue with which I never thought would happen at United to be honest, many of them i'm struggling to get my head around.

What do I want?  managers contract changed to reflect actual results on the park and/OR management team get their marching orders. Chairman to signal his intentions to all supporters with statements backed up by his actions.
