Final question from Moi.
What is your all-time favourite Dundee FC defeat out of the 1000's they've suffered?

you are given a wad o cash to make improvements in and around tannadice..
what do you do?Bring back Stevie Campbell. If the manager doesn't like it, pay him off and bring someone else in.
It saddens me so much that we're about to lose a coach who made our youth system the talk of Europe because one man doesn't like him.
eh was meaning upgrades/improvements on the stadium but that does tae haha
Haha - got ya! I'd love another tier on the Shed and the bits either side of the GF filled in so the three sides all go around in one. Any leftover cash I'd subsidise entry - tenner for adults and a quid for bairns and OAPs.
Oh actually, standing in the bottom tiers. And none of your safe standing pish. Unsafe standing! Sways aplenty.

Me and my mates used to conveniently position ourselves right behind the barrier in the middle of the Shed for some daft fuckin reason. Every goal we'd get crushed right into it.
Most memorable sway was McKinnon's equaliser against Dundee in the Cup - 91? Went on to win 3-1. Always seemed to be a bit more full on in night games.
I was in the Seggie for the Barcelona game. Positioned right next to that wee strip down the middle that no-one was allowed to stand in. I can still visualise the sway from my vantage point when Gallacher scored.
Glad I wasn't in my usual spot that day...

So true mate. I always think that about, well not even kids anymore. Boys well in their twenties that have only ever known all-seaters. I was half jesting when I said unsafe standing earlier but to be honest this whole safe standing pish is a farce. When it was proper terracing you stood where you wanted. Boys who wanted to congregate in middle areas, old boys who stood at the side, kids at the front. Now it's so dispersed and diluted. Safe standing is just the same but you can stand up. Will improve the atmosphere a bit but not much.
Sometimes regret not being old enough to properly experience the 80s in terms of away trips etc but, by fuck, I'm so grateful I was there at all.
Never to be repeated eh?

Haha - had some incredible nights in all three! Fatties when it was one level with the burger bit through the back was the business. I just caught the tail end of its boom. Same with De Stihl's.
Was never out the Mardi between 95 and 97. It was actually shite looking back!
On a football related note though, the night of the play-off game against Thistle in the Mardi was the best night in any nightclub ever.

Although I was 100% a Fatties man, that night in the Mardi was outstanding. And it was my Birthday.
Still got one of the players Club tie from that night, Grant Johnsons.

Remember hugging Christian Dailly on the pitch after the final whistle then doing the same an hour later in the back bar.

Haha, I had Andy McLaren on my shoulders on the pitch. Head was covered in mud. Not one fuck was given.

I can't even remember the DJ playing any music that night, just everyone belting out United songs from start to finish.
One of the great nights.

Sensible Soccer daft mate. Wasn't big on computers in the 80s - too busy outside kicking a ball about.
Me too mate. Got SWOS downloaded on the pc. Class.
Sensible World Of Soccer, still the best football game ever!
Sorry Trap_6, just catching up on this just now, another great read, well done mate!
