Derek Keilloh Blog in the Record

Absolutely bang on the money. Superbly written piece, nailed it!

Must read for every Scottish football fan, not just Arabs.

Re: Derek Keilloh Blog in the Record

Well said that man, brilliant piece.

Interesting point too about the celtic game being our lowest crowd so far. I wasn't there, gave my season ticket away. I hate them that much. Can't bear the thought of these animals being in our ground.

I live for the day when they leave us.

Re: Derek Keilloh Blog in the Record

Not a bad piece on the whole but I've one major problems with it.

Long on rhetoric and short on solutions  - hoping some kind of Diddy euro league pops into being and entices the two cheeks away is just wishful thinking imo - we need to find our own solutions without hoping someone else does it for us.

Re: Derek Keilloh Blog in the Record

100% in agreement with everything written! Was actually saying basically the same thing coming out the game on Saturday!

What do they actually get out of the game, what do we get out of the game in both ways nothing apart from them getting the same cup back each May and we might get to Hampden for a gid day on the swally. If I didn't have a season ticket would I pay £20 to go to a Celtic game at tannadice, absolutely not!

Think myself and TEK had the discussion just after being to Tic Park for the cup replay last year, that was my first visit to their patch for maybe 12 or so years and the size of the place hits home the gulf in every department between them and all the rest of us, the league is a joke in terms of actual competition.

What are we actually playing for in the 40 league games? Best hope is second place which gives you , wait for it, an early July start in round one of qualifiers for the Europa cup with away trips to the far end of Europe to get pumped out by some team nae chunt has heard of. Oh and instead of the riches of the champions league the teams involved actually lose money!

It's a basket case of a situation and only football as a business model would treat their customers with such contempt and expect us to continue to come back. Problem is we love our clubs so much we do. Maybe it's more fool us!!

Thanks for the comments, they are all appreciated. I was not in a good mood when I wrote it. I am not sure if that comes across or not.

Re: Derek Keilloh Blog in the Record

It's a good read and well written but I don't think Celtic fans care what the rest of the league think as long as they keep winning titles

And all I hope for is they don't win The Treble AND they fail to make The Champions League!
