I think this tactic was spot on from Liverpool.
Shot across the bows that shows exactly who is in charge.
Less compensation if any needs to be paid out.
Manager is left in no doubt and the media can't help him out either.
Thoughts?

What did Liverpool do? I must've missed that.

When they weren't sure if they were going to punt Rodgers or not, they fired his coaching staff.
They then replaced it with one of their own choosing.
Basically put him back in his box.

I missed this too, didn't know this happened at Liverpool.
Interesting though, its pretty common in Europe that a head coach is appointed and sacked but the coaching team remain loyal to the club.
When you think about it it makes sense I suppose, it allows continuity with the levels below the first team. I can understand a new manager and one right hand man but do we really need to sack four or five staff and recruit the same every time we make a change?
In this case yes as Simon, Jackson and Craig are all as culpable imo but if we change the philosophy from this point on can we get away with just changing one or two from then on?
Interesting.
It maybe isn't but I'm half pished.

It is interesting mate
No just cause you are pushed either.
Look at when joeys got into real bother at manyoo, when he got rid of the coaching staff.
The bare minimum we should have is a fit team, we should take care if that ourselves, not leave it to a rank amatuer.

I could possibly give McNamara another month at the helm if we sacked that prick Jackson now and that rat faced cunt Donnelly.
A centre half playing assistant is a must.

Andy Webster?

Sally Webster would be an improvement.

A manager has to be able to pick his own asst and 1st team coach. Anything else at the club should be stable, no need for mass clear outs etc.
Lumping a different assistant on Jackie only causes more friction.
It's pretty simple just get rid of him and his hanger ons.
