I will take a 6 or 7 thrashing if it means the end of Jackie, the bigger picture is more important.

Re: Utd v Celtic - 22/8/15 (Noon ko)

celtic will have one eye on tuesday night away to malmo and if we go at them them early and be nasty n aggresive we can win because they wont want to get involved in that type of game at all im certain of that so lets turn the game into a fkn war and get 3 points sure we might risk a red by going down this route but i would take that risk

We have next to no-one in the team with a nasty streak, especially in the areas required if we are having a go at them.

Any degree of aggression we have is confined to McGowan at right back, as far as I can see, and perhaps Durnan and Dixon to a lesser extent.

But even if we are forceful with them, the referee is Willie Collum, assisted by Gavin Harris (remember him) and Graeme Leslie. Fourth official? Kevin Clancy.

Re: Utd v Celtic - 22/8/15 (Noon ko)

Is it too much to ask that we at least TRY to take the game to them?  That at least will get our support on board.

With Lustig out they are gonna probably play Ambrose, Boyata and Izzaguirre at the back with Van Dick.  That's 3 bombscares and someone who causes us untold grief if he's allowed to maraud forward.  So Muirhead and Murray up top please.

Bitton looked to tweak a knee towards the end of last night, so maybe it will be Brown and Mulgrew so let's get in amongst them, as they are not ball players.  Make them go long!

All I ask for is 90 mins of effort and endeavour and who knows what could happen with a little luck?  That 2nd Malmo goal means they've got an eye on midweek for sure.  Mon Yenitit!!!

Changed my mind on this, watched the Celtic vs Malmo game last night on re-run.  Think we'll do really well not to get rinsed here I really do.  Dont think we have anything to worry that Van Dijk for example.

Think this will all depend on what kind of mood they are in. Sorry, negative as f uck I know.

Bodul probably out injured and Dow likely to make the bench according to Courier today.

Re: Utd v Celtic - 22/8/15 (Noon ko)

I think it says quite a lot about where we are when we are anxiously awaiting the return of Ryan Dow.  Dont get me wrong, that's not a put down.  But there was a time when he'd be considered bit part player at best.  He has "a bit about him" such as Erskine in my opinion but cant see Dow's return as being as impactful as some are hoping.

Re: Utd v Celtic - 22/8/15 (Noon ko)

Erskine apart, I can't think of anyone up front who has impressed me more than Dow? Spits 20 minutes or so against Dundee was very impressive, but most other times when it has come to setting the heather on fire, his matches are most often damp!

Re: Utd v Celtic - 22/8/15 (Noon ko)

Few changes, Muirhead starts up top, Dillon right back, McGowan into midfield with Fraser, no place for Ranks in 18?

Zwick

Dixon
Donaldson
Durnan
Dillon

Souttar

Erskine
McGowan
Fraser
Spittal

Muirhead

Sub's: McCallum, Harry Souttar, Telfer, Murray, Coote, Connolly, Dow.

Fucking bizarre 18 imo but I like it.

Dicker a couple of crunchers early here.  Don't like him being on a yellow so early

Re: Utd v Celtic - 22/8/15 (Noon ko)

Agree about Dixon, he's got two fouls left, boy is murdering him.

I'd be tempted to put Dillon left back, McGowan right back and bring Coote on within first 30 mins.

Re: Utd v Celtic - 22/8/15 (Noon ko)

Don't understand why he puts his whistle in his mouth then doesn't use it?

He must have seen something?

Would have been a soft penalty but 100% certain Celtic would have got it.

Ageed.  GMS soft foul there for example.  Need some possession here

Too many chances coming from direct balls over top here.

Much better last 5 minutes.  They're nothing special at the back here. Just need to calm down in possession ffs.

They are good in final third but keeper to front they look average.
