Good, now maybe we will see some changes at Tannadice and get someone in to run the club the way it should be.

Hopefully he sells up. Buying an Australian team. Ha
Online!
Hopefully he hands over control to Justine (and Southern) and ends his six figure salary with us. But somehow I doubt it. Justine could certainly get the fans on side if her first act as Chairwoman was do ditch you-know-who and his merrydown men.

"However, it is thought Thompson will seek to install his own man at the top once the sale is completed. "
Wonder if he'll take Jackie and the 3 Amigo's wi him.

Justine taking over is the reason he has been looking for an a team in Oz.

Had earlier (a few weeks back) PMd Tek with some of the following, which may or may not turn out to be true.
John Bennett appears to believe Thompson will not go through with buying into an Aussie club, and is only using it as an excuse to use United's cash to go back and forth down under, where he intends to settle eventually.
Bennett is in such an opposite corner to the majority of the board that, in the Dundee derby, rather than socialise with other United directors, he remained in his seat in the stand throughout half time, and (this is third hand) told a Dundee fan he didn't want to 'mix with these arseholes'.
So, our homework is to see if we can spot Bennett tomorrow, and note what he does at half time. I'm told he normally sits in the directors' area above the dugouts.

PR - i might be missing the point here but St has stated the deal is nothing to do with united, so why would we be paying his flights?
Also it's not just him - it's a consortium - are we meant to be paying all flights? One of our other directors is in on it too - what about him?
Not doubting what yer saying - you obviously trust your source...but seems a biggie for united not only to give him the time off but to pay for the trips too.
Not sure about JB either - he crosses the road more than chickens in jokes do.
Let's hope he's home and can give us more info on what the future holds for united!

He's wanting to go to Australia to be closer to his daughter who stays over there. He doesn't want to lose his chairmanship as it pays him a 6 figure sum every year. That's why southern was appointed as he saw him doing the day to day work that he done while he's in Oz

I honestly have no problem with the chairman being involved in another business venture. But fact is it's another football club on the other side of the world. It's ABSOLUTELY reasonable for arabs to ask what this means to DUFC. You think any other set of supporters wouldnt be demanding the same thing?
Hoping a statement of intent is made. Would be extremely arrogant not to.

John Bennett resigned as a director in May (unless he's back again - I kinda loose track with him).
Also the directors have moved to the ET upper I think (so anyone whose been calling them c###s on here or elsewhere and sits in the lower, that's probably not been rain from a leaky roof landing on your heads during the game )

Bennetts def away, and the directors have sat in ET upper for years including Bennett when he was on the board.

The Shed and scarpia, Derek Robertson resigned in May, and is listed as having done so on this site:
Company Check too has Bennett as a current director:
United's own website has removed Derek Robertson, but John Bennett remains on the official directors' page
Yes, Bennett used to sit beside the rest of the directors, now he sits away from them. Make of all this what you will.

Quite right, still listed - BBC (and others IIRC) had him away in May....
Could have been a change of heart, pish in the press, or slowness in a change being notified to companies house.
Just adds to the muddle and confusion that surrounds the club these days.

Courier reporting today that the deal could be completed this weekend.
Also saying that Thompson is not expected to be at Tannadice today.
