The 5th match of Round 1 saw the tie won by 'The Day We Caught The Train' the No.2 hit for OCEAN COLOUR SCENE and it will now progress through to the 2nd round as a top seed.Joining it in the 2nd Round (albeit unseeded) will be 'Reverend Black Grape' by BLACK GRAPE which finished as runner-up.Eliminated at the first hurdle are 'A Design For Life' by The Manic Street Preachers and also 'Alright' by Supergrass.The latter registering no votes.

I was at Ash's gig in Montrose and it was really good. Elastica's album was really good as well. But The Stone Roses win that by a country mile

Am I the only one who really likes the lo-fi video? (That MTV refused to play, back when MTV had music videos on it)
The Roses surprisingly caved in and made another video for the American market, which featured Beck. The video was utter mainstream pish. Reni was in this but not the video for Ten Storey Love Song cos he never turned up. This video was the last time Reni was seen on a drum kit in public for about 17 years. Mental.
