Ideally I'd like us to go down the director of football and coach route.
Something like Malpas and McKinnon.
If McKinnon does ok at Raith then like you said last week I think he'll end up manager at Tannadice. I doubt Malpas would come back and tbh his management career has been fucking awful

Agree about Malpas but possibly may be good upstairs. Listen, who knows, I'm just putting ideas out there eh.
First things first, we need to get rid of the current management team.

McCall for me. Always had nice things to say about United. Think he's the right mentality for a lot of our younger players and I reckon he'd be grateful of the opportunity.
Plus he's fucking English, what's not to love?

Wouldn't be worse than what we already have.

Malpas and McKinnon won't happen, Malpas left Raith when McKinnon joined, tbh would rather just a manager anyway, too many different opinions inside the club as it is.

As much as I liked mccall, motherwell were one of the teams we could beat... think like mcnamara, he stuck to the bonnie football philosophy, he maybe forgot about the winning. .
I guess that could be countered that had motherwell in the top 3or 4 often.....
What's ivan golac up to nowadays.... or jimmy Calder wood (joke!)
In all seriousness, I think we need somebody who can shore up the defence, work the players hard in training and get somebody who can change the system when required.... I'm not against 4231 - but when it goes wrong, it goes spectacularly wrong.
It will be interesting to see how the squad react to the defeat in the next game.... see if they can or will save the managers skin

They finished 2nd 2 seasons in a row under McCall. Now i know there was no rangers in the top flight, but fuck me that's still some achievement for them in my book.
Utd did beat them a few times in that time but they gave us a few dooings as well.We had a bigger budget and far stronger squad too it must be remembered.
He has always been very complimentary and respectful about Utd too,as said above.

The other thing i liked about Mccall's Motherwell is he always played with 2 pacy wingers (Humphreys and Murphy) and 2 forwards (Higdon and Sutton).
Christ he even managed to get Henri Anier playing decent fitba.
Yeah he's my No.1 choice i think
