Hamilton v Dundee United

Should be a fairly comfortable win.

Team: Zwick; McGowan, Donaldson, Durnan, Dixon; Erskine, Souttar, Fraser, Spittal; Bodul; Muirhead

Bodul so much better just off the front. We don't need Rankin in this type of game. Give Spittal license - we see what he can do

Re: Hamilton v Dundee United

A special licence. . . . class

Agree re Bodul, looks a different player all together when he sits in behind the striker. Absolutely nothing was sticking up there in the first half.

Kinda agree re Rankin too, although he was outstanding last night.

Wouldn't imagine Muirhead is starting.

Hope we get a better performance fae Souttar. Wasn't good enough last night.

Fraser tired quite quickly last night, he may be back on bench.

For the first time in yonks, we all agree about the back 4 plus keeper.

Re: Hamilton v Dundee United

Hope their plastic pitch is better than last season after it's relay.

We should win this one by a couple. They're a shadow of Alex Neil's side of a year ago.

Spittal to grab another goal or two.

Re: Hamilton v Dundee United

You're right, Muirhead will not start and it'll be the same as last night or Murray starting. No ta

Re: Hamilton v Dundee United

I think the back 7 picks itself now, based on formation, manager preference and tbf perormance so far.

I think Spittal and Erskine have to play too.  Not sure about the last on in there, Fraser probably for me.

Deffo want Muirhead up top but doubt it will happen.

I'd have:

Kwick

McGowan
Donaldson
Durnan
Dixon

Rankin
Souttar

Spittal
Fraser
Erskine

Muirhead

Re: Hamilton v Dundee United

Heard this morning that Muirhead came back to pre-season training about a stone overweight hence his exclusion from starting games at the moment. Like all rumours it could be bull but the boy is usually pretty trustworthy on Facebook.

Too much commotion

That's the problem when there's no real discipline at the club.

It would make sense if that's what it is. Something's obviously happened for him to fall so much out of favour. He's a JM signing as well so it's not as if he would naturally favour the likes of Murray and Bodul over him.

Don't think there's much the management team can do about it. Muirhead's a grown up. And an athlete. He should be more than capable of keeping himself in shape for 6 weeks over the summer without needing to have the threat of discipline hanging over him.

All the manager can do is not pick him until he proves his fitness/learns his lesson.

They won a couple of times in the bottom six last year.

It could be argued Muirheads continuing exclusion from the team (at a time when most people think he'd do us a turn if fully fit) is him being disciplined by the club. As long as it doesn't carry on too long. He should be getting put in the u20s to sharpen him up.

Definitely some sort of issue with him or he'd be starting for sure.

I'd go that 11 but with Fraser pushed further forward and Bodul just off Muirhead, 4 1 3 2 if u like.

Re: Hamilton v Dundee United

Hamilton maybe should have beaten us in the April game when they were on their bad run last season, and finished the season well after that. Still a decent team I'd say.

Hoping for an attacking team selection, not simply Bodul up front and players expected to get up close to him when we have the ball. Referee is Steven McLean, who I thought was not too bad last couple of seasons, although he always seemed to book Shifty.

Re: Hamilton v Dundee United

I'd be tempted to play Simon Murray from the start, he closes down really quickly and they like to play it from the back also the plastic pitches tend to make the ball run faster which imho would suit his pace.

We don't give a damn what the others say
We'll cheer on United all the way
For we are the Terrors of Tannadice

Tempted to put him in my starting XI tbh DTRA.

But for the mo i think him and Connolly (and Telfer) have more impact from the bench.Though Murray's looked better than i expected.Decent start to his Utd career.

I was just thinking darko isn't quite up to speed yet, and on that type of surface you would get more out of Murray but I'm sure we'll both get a surprise when the teams announced Tek
