And finally as the sun set on the Island for the final time in your life what song would you like to play out?
Sarto, I thank you Sir.
Mogwai Fear Satan. What a tune to go out on. Just a brilliant noise. So evocative.
Just to see the sun descend for the last time as it fades out...wow. That's how you exit.

And one last thing.
Could you pick next weeks 'castaway' please Sir?
I'll go for Macho Man, just to see if they pick Macho Man by the Village People

Good read SM, I'm enjoying finding music that I probably wouldn't have listened to otherwise and a top pick with Dexys btw,
I've still got the original vinyl and used to wear the wooly hat and donkey jaiket to work, reckon I'll look the album oot this week as I haven't played in yonks !
Well played Sir.

Yeah yet another great read that (what a great series this has been).
The Manics and Dexy's were both considered in my final 8 (and agree 'Tell Me When My Light Turns Green" is the best song on the album...and maybe their best ever actually).
Never liked Prince but because of your enthusiasm about that album i will check it out i think.
Also attempted to read 'Ulysses' many years ago after handed it by my auld man who raved about it.Never made it very far.Was way beyond my comprehension at the time.Might need to go back.

Agreed. Sarto - they are not as nice looking as Kacey, but I hope you gave Blackberry Smoke a go from my stranding!
There is plenty new stuff to keep me amused in your choices, but I have chosen to start with Kacey for no particular reason (well that's what I'm telling Mrs Twat!)
Siebby, I've got Prince's Batman Soundtrack in my CD collection too - full of brilliant tracks, interspersed with classic one liners from the movie as you will well know!

I think, for the unitiniated, Purple Rain is probably the best place to start, as it has When Doves Cry, which I think is his best song. It isn't my favuorite ablum, but it's still very good.
Loved Batdance, but I think the Batman album was a wee bit patchy TBH.
You can blame my mum for trying (and failing) to get me into Ulysses. Although I think she was only pretending she understood it ;)

Good choices though. Got all those albums apart from the last one.

Dexy's aside, I don't think our musical tastes converge all that much Sarto.
But I have to say that was a magnificent read. Superb mate.
