zwick, ye prick

Before I go any further, the title is in jest....

Zwick had a good game and the first he had no chance with...

Not blaming him too much for the second either - however, do we have to learn to live with these sorts of mistakes? An experienced keeper would have palmed it out wide, I'd imagine, rather than keeping it in the danger zone....

Likewise, don't think we had the experience in midfield to hold on to the ball at the end...we seemed rushed by dees efforts, when  control was the better option...

For the record, I don't buy into either extremity of opinion. He's far from manny need,  but he's not terrible....

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Re: zwick, ye prick

He has done well but he needs to work on handling the ball better.

Yeah, not his greatest moment, but I've seen more experienced keepers do the same, strikes me as the type that will learn from his experience.

None too chuffed at Telfer getting turned over by Harkins to set it up - less sure he'll learn from it.

Re: zwick, ye prick

gutted, had to step away from mydesk at 90 minutes but it was twitchy that entire last 10 minutes.  Sounded like Telfer was as much at fault as Zwick was?  I missed entire first half but we were good for the 2 goal lead from what I saw in the second half.  Was like someone flipped a switch after the boy Stewart scored though

Re: zwick, ye prick

It's a disaster he blew it right at the end and he is now gonna be in the spotlight even more now, some character building for him in the coming games.

We blew that tonight, considering we should have been 2 nil down first half.

Re: zwick, ye prick

Correct RRDH mate. Telfer wap probably more at fault. Seconds to go, he has to do better there. If he had, the shot wouldn't have come in.

Overall, a draw was right.

Re: zwick, ye prick

zwick was good tonight. Unfortunately that's the thing with keepers. Mistakes are highlighted.
Now we see what he's made of.

Missed the first half Silver, I was harsh on the BNB because from what I saw second half they were pretty gash but reading the report sounds like they had the better of the first half somehow.

For what I did see, I think we can all confirm that Blair Spittal is indeed going to be a PLAYER.  I always thought the ceiling was going to be higher for Telfer than Spittal.  thats flipped.

Re: zwick, ye prick

I thought the young lad played well tonight, a couple of really important saves and his distribution from the back could be an important asset for us this season, it was good to see him building things from the back rather than an aimless punt up the park that 9 times out of ten comes straight back.

OK could have done better with fattys shot but overall, I think he looks comfortable with the ball at his feet and I think and hope he'll go from strength to strength

I don't know a lot, but I know what I like!

Re: zwick, ye prick

I thought Zwick overall done really well tonight for what is afterall only his 3rd competitive start. He kept us in it in the 1st half as Dundee were easily the more dangerous side, and he pulled off about 4 good stops.

Unfortunately the problem is as the lad was only an amateur just a year ago mistakes are going to happen.

Mistake v Vitesse (similiar to tonights actually) and also should have saved the free-kick
The header v QPR
Dropped 2 crosses v Aberdeen, luckily got away with them
Tonight's equaliser.

This is no criticism of him btw..because he's being thrown in at the deep-end and mistakes WIll happen. He's getting about 90-95% things right...some things he looks excellent at.

But unfortunately i can see him making an error every other match as he learns his trade. It's a big gamble to take making him no.1 at the moment.

Re: zwick, ye prick

He should have done better, but what on earth was telfer thinking, just fecking punt it up the park! Worrying how little he has developed

Re: zwick, ye prick

Happy that even at the game most folk were reasonable enough ti say "fair enough he's only a young keeper" and that's continued on this forum.

Like someone else has already said, seen keepers a lot better and more experienced than Zwick make that mistake, see it on Match Of The Day never mind a keeper who's only played 4 Pro games.

His double save first half was excellent, albeit the 2nd shot was pinged straight at him but you can only save what's hit at you end of the day.

Telfer will also learn from this I think.

Re: zwick, ye prick

Feel bad for Zwick, great saves in the first half, desperately unlucky for the equaliser, hopefully his confidence isn't knocked and we can all still get behind him.

Re: zwick, ye prick

Not to make excuses for him but heard from a gk coach today that the new balls the spfl are using are causing keepers all sorts of handling problems with many now opting to push the ball away rather than holding - iirc that's what Bain was doing on Tuesday

Re: zwick, ye prick

Telfer should have done better in the middle, shirked the challenge for me! Blootered the ball upfield or fouls Harkins.
