Acid test

The next 3 games will tell us what kind of team JM has amassed and if he is up to the task.
Two away games that were winnable last season but may not be this time round and a derby, we simply must get 6 points out of those games or we will find ourselves chasing shadows all season....oh and it's the tims after those games

Re: Acid test

We need to move away from this formation that he is sticking with time and time again its not working.

Re: Acid test

After the Aberdeen game, I'm now a member of the 2 up front brigade.

Re: Acid test

Agree with all of above.

Imo we no longer have the right players to play 4-2-3-1

Problem is JM seems wedded to that formation so wouldn't be surprised if he perseveres with it

Re: Acid test

Might be wrong but don't we only have 3 fit Attacking midfielders now, Erskine, Spittal and Telfer? And I think Telfer plays better in a deeper role anyway. Surely canna be away to play 4231 this weekend knowing that we're phlucked if someone gets injured.

You'd think not...but...

He might play Fraser (who Bollan iirc compared to Armstrong) or possibly Muirhead (he's played him I'm midfield before - to no great effect by all accounts)

Hope I'm wrong but as I've said he is very keen on the current system

Re: Acid test

He played 4-4-2 vs Dundee in the last game of the season for the first hour, then he brought on Connolly, went back to 4-2-3-1 and we were rubbish for the rest of that game.

Re: Acid test

Majorly concerned about the striker tomorrow and linking up play, I would expect Muirhead to play and he is going to have to play a blinder if we are to get anything out the game.
