Just that it's no surprise to me the BNB got off to a great start today. Got their business done nice and early, i think that plays a factor. I didn't see the game of course but 4 - 0 away from home???
From afar and at least with on pitch matters, appear to be heading in the right direction.
Just saying. Sorry.

When i posted on another forum what Alan Preston had said on Sportsound it was met with the usual derision from people who know F ALL about the game,he said there would be a power shift in Dundee because of the amount of players we have sold in such a short time.
I cannot believe that we have brought in headline figures of around £9,000,000 in transfer fees yet our position of dominace is under threat from a team who posted losses of over £800,000 last year!.We should be the width of the Tay ahead of them but the sheer imcompetence of our chairman and management team could see us finish below them this season.

In what way are Thompson and McNamara to blame for the Fun winning 4-0 away from home today?

It's a long season GB, keep the faith mate. That said you dont beat anyone 4-0 away without having your act together.

Don't see what difference it makes how early you get the players in sometimes it's not possible to get your targets in early or who you want aren't available on pre contracts, it's not like we've just signed 5 players last week and pitched them straight in to action, Durnan has played in all the friendlies, Donaldson in 5, Zwick and Murray in 3, Darko and Sneijder in 2, in my opinion after after struggling for fitness/form last season a full pre season will have benefitted McGowan, Dixon and Bilate and they will feel like 3 new signings add to that players who have been with the club in Telfer, Spittal, Connelly and they have had a year around the first team gaining experience so I fully expect them to kick on from where they were last year and be good enough to start every week rather than being bit part players.

Welcome to the forum W_endarab
As for the so called "power shift" that some Dundee fans are trying to claim, let's just wait and see where both teams are at next May. One game does not make a season.

There is little doubt that the guys up the road have made an impact start to the season and what a statement of intent it was! Give credit where it is due. Of course, just as one swallow does not make a summer, so too a single brilliant result does not alter the football climate. Nevertheless, United have precious little time to show their own worth. Interesting DAYS ahead!

I mind Houston's last season, we won our first 2 games 3-0 and everyone shot their load.
How did it turn out again?

This is a marathon, not a sprint.

Dundee have a good keeper and thon Stewart is a very good player. He'll not be there forever either. Hartley is a decent manager.
They'll probably do ok this season if they hang on to the players and manager.
The day I worry about them though is the day I stop going to games. FFS it's Dundee

Dundee shouldn't finish above us but depending on what or management team do this year there's always the potential unfortunately

UTD have finished above them almost every year over the last 50, yet most Dundee fans still think they are the big club in the city. Based on BNB thinking it will take more than 1 result to challenge our superiority.

We were sitting TOTL last Season for the first 3 weeks. Means phuck-all. Doesna matter who's top the first week, it who's TOTL the last, and we all know who it's rigged up to be.

I cannot believe anybody that kens F ALL aboot the game would listen to that shite, power shift my arse we'll see at the end of the season how much Preston kens, on this point fuck all in my opinion

Power shift, my arse.
A power shift would mean consistently finishing higher in the league (or even playing in a higher league) over a number of seasons, along with having bigger crowds, a better youth system, better facilities, a bigger budget, the ability to attract players from bigger clubs and numerous other factors.
Dundee could finish 20 points ahead of United this season and they'll still be miles behind with regards to the balance of power.

V downbeat with only a few hours to kick off.
Thing is : nobody knows how united will be. Bilate might be a star (es never had a run) darko might be better than ciftci
The defence might he learned to defend.
Dave might me a midfield magician....
We got pumped in 3 preseason games and had our chances in games v top champ/bottom pre sides.... let's not be defeated before we kick off
