Cider is OK but but home made cider gave me a close one. Party half way up Hulltoon and the home brew was extra strong.
Somechunt turned up wi clippers and 11 folk shaved their heed, including a lassie.
Left the party the next day wi pure white nappers and we're met by undercover polis jumping oot unmarked cars and vans.
They were camped out waiting for the skinheads that had been attacking the Mosque opposite the party.
See trying to explain that you are not a skinhead when you have a skinhead!
The burd greetin aboot her skinhead helped persuade them though.
Too much sugar in the mix ended with us no lookin too sweet.
Ha ha, great story.
I woke up after a party on the Hulltoon with a zero all over too, must have been 1996, opposite the bottom of the hill multis, good times.

I feel like I need to defend the hammering that the uisge beatha is recieving on here.
In my opinion if you don't like whisky you've just not found one you like yet, there are hundreds of different whisky flavours, some as different as vodka is to brandy.
For example I'm no daft on whisky from Islay, really scented and peaty, a Laphroig is one of the most distinctive whiskies you can get, but it tastes like TCP to me.
On the other side of the specturm there are whiskies from Speyside, some gentle tasting well known ones like Glenfiddich are much more subtle.
And there are many variations in between, and it is an acquired taste and its best to add a bit of water.
My favourite just now (which I appreciate is the opposite of what was asked in the thread, but I'm mental me so fuck it) is an Old Pulteney from Wick, tidy stuff.
Alba gu brath.

Got to agree with Andy about single malt. I love Glenfarclas and a fan of most Speyside malts. But I find Laphroig disgusting, can taste the salt and seaweed from it. Also find Champagne and Brandy pretty rank.

I tend to avoid spirits. When I start drinking them it really is time I should be heading home.

I've told my local to refuse to sell me when I start ordering double rums

Now and again I convince myself I can drink whisky however I just make a complete erse of it when I do end up drinking it.
Drinks of choice and in no particular order are lager, gin, vodka (premium stuff, nae smirnoff or glens pish) sailor Jerry's, cava, prosecco, champagne. Sauvignon blanc.
I do like a swally
There are as many different gins as there are whiskies. I always thought Gordon's was the standard but compared to something like The Botanist, it's like white spirit. I expect it's the same for Vodka. Most folk will go with Smirnoff but there are far smoother alternatives.

I cannot drink tequila without immediately puking it back up.

Tequila's the one for me as well. Had a horrendous experience on it when I was about 16.
Having said that, I've recently been introduced to the wonder that is Cafe Petron. Coffee flavour tequila. Nae hint of tequila taste. Magnificent stuff.
