John Souttar

We should offer to make him our highest paid player IMO.

Get him to renew for a further 2 years and this time next Summer he'll go for 2 million+ easy.

Rolls Royce of a player. And he should be absolutely integral to the team going forward this season.

I'd make him the highest paid player, and i'd also be fine with him getting say a 10-15% cut of any transfer fee over 1 million pounds,on the proviso he's loyal to the club and re-signs for 2 years.

We can't let him just walk away at 18 without really pushing the boat out to keep him and convince him his career is best served staying here for a bit longer.

Re: John Souttar

I agree. If he stays, he will have a very good season playing in that defensive midfield role.

From his perspective, you'd think that he would be happy to sign a 1 year extension. If we significantly improve his salary and he has a good season, he will earn a good move.

He must be excited about the season ahead. Being fully fit and playing in a position that he must be enjoying as he's given a license to play with much more freedom than he had at centre back. Not sure he'd get a regular game for a bigger team.

Make 30+ starts. Win the SPFL young player of the year and Soapy will have teams lining up for his signature in 11 months. Win/win
