I know it's slightly o/t but my 1st poignant memory was Hamish saving a penalty in United's 2nd Scottish Cup Final, versus the now deceased Glasgow Rangers in 1981.

Ta, only got to the game on the Saturday and therefore cannot even mention Doddser's consolation in the replay as the 1st goal i remember, i was at the League Cup Final aswell against the now deceased Glasgow Rangers but my memory of the goals (Luggys too!) Is non existent. TBH at a very young age I was totally mesmerized by the size of Hampden then and spent most of the time scanning the ash terracing held together by railway sleepers, the incredible sight of the press box adjacent to me on the main stand roof and the mammoth structure behind me in the north terracing that looked like it was ready to swallow me up. These characteristics of Hampden should have been listed and preserved but however back to the topic, my memory search for my 1st United goal continues! Bet you wish you hadn't asked lol

Eamonn Bannon 3rd April 1985 in a 4-0 demolition of the Fun. Somethings never change. The one I remember is Alex Taylor scoring in that game though.

I can't remember it at all, but Duncan Ferguson v Motherwell away. United won 1-0, first game of 92-93 season.
I think I got Daily, McKinley and Malps's autographs before the game.

Scottish Cup Replay V Dundee, 23rd of January 1990.
Tannadice on a Tuesday night. I was 10 years old, my cousin who could drive (and is Rangers daft!) wanted to go through and see the match and I asked if I could go with him as my dad was abroad working in the oil industry a lot at the time (and was a Raith Rovers fan!).
We stood in the small standing bit next to the dug out and tunnel before it got filled in. Big John Clark scored and finished 1-0. My cousin tried to get me to go to the dark side as my two older brothers and older sister were Rangers fans as well but I was already too far down the line....a lost cause ;)
Think I made the right choice in the end.
On a footnote my dad tried to turn me to Raith Rovers as well, he said he would take me for a season at Tannadice if he could take me for the season at Raith Rovers for the next. That was the 90/91 season when we went to Hampden then I had to endure the 91/92 season in the 1st division in Kirkcaldy! Think I turned my dad more to United!
The best year for me and my dad was 1994, we both seen our teams beat the old firm in cup finals, United at Hampden in May v Rangers and at ibrox in November v Celtic when Raith beat them on pens.
Great memories, felt emotional at the end of the Rovers v United semi final in Scottish cup in 2010, unfortunately my dad passed away with cancer a year before and would have loved to have went to the final whoever went through.

Craig Brewster v Dumbarton in 1995. He scored 4 that day.
