Since we started (DTRA's great idea) of doing our own Tekel Towers version of 'Desert Island Discs' i've been listening to a lot of BBC4's podcasts.Been getting slightly addicted to them tbh and listening to 1 a night before bedtime, something quite soothing about them almost.
Anyway...my favourite one yet was just from Sunday past....Noel Gallagher.I can relate to a helluva lot of the stuff he says on here about growing up in the 70s/80s as some other guys on here doubtless will be able to also.
A really good listen.

The Morrissey one a few years ago was a good listen but I'm biased. He's never boring

That is fucking great.
Such a deep fellow.
Never quite got his fascination with The New York Dolls though.

Woke up at 0530 this morning and listened to both podcasts in full - thanks for posting the links up - I'm well impressed that baith me and DTR have influenced Morrissey and Noel G so much that they also chose Lou Reed, The Sex Pistols and The Ramones!!!
Won't be long before the family is up and my day is ruined, but at least I've had 3 hours of sanctuary........

Just listened to the Noel one. Crabking listen. I like Noel a lot even though I dont really listen to much of his stuff anymore. He can fuck off with U2 though. He talks quite well and is very articulate

Tell you what, the fact that you can listen to these shows in their full with the tracks is almost worth the licence fee alone. When you download them on itunes the songs are missing.
That and BBC4 are worth the £150 quid IMO

I listened to David Tennants. Was shaping up well until he had an Eddie Izzard monologue as one of his choices.
Turned it off in a huff

"Sleeping like this will add 10 years to your life. I learned it from Keith Richards when I toured with the Stones. This may be the reason why Keith cannot be killed by conventional weapons."
They were making jokes about this all the way back in 1993, and he is still here!! Well done that man.

If you get a chance listen to the Eric 'Winkle' Brown episode, he was born in Leith and was a Test Pilot I wont say anymore but what a life that man had, absolute Boys Own stuff well worth a listen IMHO although his choice of music is not really my cup of tea.
