Pre Season in the Netherlands

Alright folks, first time i've been on a computer since I came back on friday. What a belter of a trip that was. The games maybe weren't the best but the whole set up of football in the Netherlands is something that Scotland should take note of. Also it was clear that we need to shift some of the current first team players to allow us to bring in some new players. I think Snidjer would be a great signing for us, looked decent in the games he played.

Re: Pre Season in the Netherlands

Interesting point to note for those that do not have ArabZONE.  In the post QPR interviews, it was stated that the Squad all trained fully in the mornings and then played the games heavy legged whilst in Holland.  And that whilst results and performances were not great, it was part of a plan, as in other interviews it has been stated that a more scientific approach to fitness has been involved this pre season including vital signs recording and Sat Nav etc.  After the dearth of info coming from the Club, it's important folk know what the bigger picture is now.  I for one feel like I am getting my MoJo rejuvenated.

Yeah I heard that too. Like the sound of that. From the Zone interviews it sounded like we were on top the last 20 minutes which is the first time for a while we've heard that. Hopefully the fitness issues of last season are being addressed.

Too much commotion

But United have been utilising that sport science since JMac/St Andra's started. It's minor tweaks this season with GPS packs and the like, along with the previous programme.

Why did we look fucked in the second half of games last season then?

If they I.D. fitness improvement areas to be targeted it's going to be large and varied. The idea will be to step it up at the right pace.
Wonder what the benchmark is though.
It's all good collecting data, but what target is set and against what level of opposition?

Didn't like reading Armstrong's comments on the difference between us and Septic's fitness levels.
