Guys, whatever the case is with the raft of bids we've been putting in of late, who do you think we will be getting out of Mckay, Mcginn & Allan? Just leaving it at those 3.

You do realize that Paul Sturrock just came on here and called for us to unite & for the chairman to clarify his intentions right? That's a man in football, knows what he's talking about, United in his veins asking for clarification!

I'll be like anyone at the start of the season, hoping we give Aberdeen a good ramming. No question about it.  Great first post Dumfries Arab!  They still got that ice hockey team there? Used to go up on a Friday to watch that.

Re: We are United

Message boards would quickly die if all participants had the same opinion, accusing people of being paranoid or having delusions of grandeur because they don't hold the same opinion as them is embarrassing, I'd tell my kids off if they were immature enough to act like that but thankfully they are not.

Personally I'm glad there are supporters who are questioning the running of the club as I don't think it's being run very well at all.  I cancelled my Arabtrust membership after arguing years ago that they were far to cosy with the Thompson's.   Others on here think everything is pure fine because we have seen a dozen or so fantastic performances from a multi million pound squad in the last two years, likewise that is their prerogative and we all have the same space to write our opinions, neither "side" has the facts.

And the argument that suggests that there is no skullduggery in business, that no football club would think about leaking misinformation to the press about potential transfers to win favour with their supporters is naive at best.  I have no idea if United have done this re Allan but to say its a laughable idea is laughable.

Everything is black or white these days, no cunt takes anyone else's opinion on board anymore, happy to rubbish it unless it backs up their own belief.

Tidy.

Re: We are United

The bid was put in in january also knowing we wouldnt get him so how the fuck is that peoples self importance?
Celtic reportedly had a bid of £500k knocked back for allan. So we are now going to bid for him 6 months after having 2 bids of less than half celtics rumoured bid? Away and dont talk shite.

Take Safe standing statement a few weeks later... what happened there? Another stunt.

Self importance? Away and dont talk pish

Re: We are United

Kenny, after we sold the two to celtic Thompson text me and said he was bidding for Allan. I said how much.  He told me figure and I said your having a laugh. He replied "he's a first division player"  he's not got a fucking clue.  Thompson is a liar and he fucking knows it. I have the proof.  Words were I'm not selling we want to win trophies. An hour later they're sold. Stormed off in the huff at meeting  because I called him a liar. Fucking child

Celtic never bid for Allan, Delia said he wasn't interested in him.

Paper talk.

When a former Utd Manager and club legend is making a statement like that people should sit up and take notice, including the Chairman himself (and i know for a fact people at the club read this board). This is a man afterall who knows more about the day-to-day running, the infrastructure and the politics inside a football club than anyone else on here.

The uncertainty over Mr Thompson's longterm role at the club and his aspirations for the club in the near future if he is emigrating should have been clarified MONTHS ago.

It's undermining everything as regards the club/support moving forward.

Fair enough but can you blame him for keeping quiet?

You had 2 fan groups making statements implying folk are basically on the take. Fans discussing player contracts and the managers contract on various forums. Thompson made a statement at the end of the season. Folk preceded to pick it to bits.

I'm not pro Thompson, I'm certainly not pro Jackie( he's shite).

Doesn't matter what Thompson does folk will pick faults in it.

Whole thing is a massive mess. Going over old ground again and again and again though. Fuck sake. Need to move on FFS

Re: We are United

The best chairmen in football are never heard.  IMO ST used to seek unnecessary publicity, now he won't say a word, I wish it had always been like that.

Understand fans wanting to know what's going on, but texts between a chairman of a football club and a supporter ( whatever his position in supporters group ) regarding a potential transfer is completely unprofessional and actually fucking laughable, can see other clubs being delighted to do business with us when this is happening.

Having said that I'm actually a lot more concerned with what's happening on the park.

A football managers job is to win games/ trophies the rest is secondary, Jackie needs to prove quickly he can do this or fuck off.

Games fast turning away from being a sport.

Re: We are United

Agree with that Shed most of us were here before ST and JM turned up, most of us will be here when they are gone. I personally dont give a friar tuck what ST said or did not say or whether JM goes to bed in Celtic jammies. I just want to watch the games. However my opinion is no more valid than any other supporter.

As i said the whole thing could be quickly nipped in the bud if Thompson came out and done a quick 10 minute Arabzone interview outlaying his plans, whatever they are.I certainly wouldn't 'pick faults' with that. The club statement that was released back in late April i think it was said nothing that we didn't already know.

Said all this months ago though and don't expect him to break his silence anytime soon.

If a club legend is even saying he needs to come out and address the support and 'show some balls' then certain folk should take note.

.

Actually agree with that mate.

I just want to know the truth about his future and where he see's himself being in 6 months to a year and what his role will be etc etc. That and a wee bit about his vision going forward for the club.

After he comes out and does a quick Arabzone interview i'm sure most folk wouldn't be bothered if they hear from him again anytime soon.

Understandable given how it's been recently, I'm just bored with it all now and want to see a team fighting to win games, not a whole club looking at the bank balance etc.

Re: We are United

Would £250,000 be the largest amount ever bid for a player in Scotland's second tier?

Just wondering.

Obviously it wasn't enough to get him, and good on Hibs for not taking the cash, but it's a bit much to call it laughable, no?

If u mean where I said it was laughable, I wasn't  talking about the bid itself, but the fact the chairman was texting a supporter letting him know what he was bidding, joke way to do business IMO.

If u weren't meaning that I'll just shut Ma puss.

I don't even think we need or should be trying to sign Scott Allan, far more important areas of team need strengthened first.
