jackie on zone

Just listened to him on arabzone didnt seem to happy with the game himself.

Says certain players have and havent stepped up.

Him and hinchcliffe know on keeper wouldnt say apart from along the lines of everyone who has watched the games would know. Step forward Zwick

Looking to get rid of players. And also looking to bring more in.

Rodney has offers elsewhere and will know in couple days whats happening with that.

Re: jackie on zone

Sounded DEFINITE that players will be moved on.

Only sounded hopeful (to me) that we would get the targets in we want.

Gonna be a frantic next fortnight.

I think it'll be pretty definite that players will come in.  The concern for me is whether it's the correct players though.

Re: jackie on zone

This is why he has to go.

What does he know about players at tannadice that he never knew two months ago?

I knew two months ago certain players were not good enough and should be moved on and i only see them in games, if i watched training also i'm sure i would have an even better knowledge of the players we have.

Players that will not / are not making the grade should have been shipped out at the start of the transfer window at the very latest so that we have time to build for the season, we shouldn't be going into the next two weeks looking to move players out just so we can bring some in.

Boys clubs are run better at playing level than Dundee United.

This is unconscionable to me.  Absolutely madening.  I said on another thread it seemed from outside looking in that we had no real pro-active plan heading into the closed season... honestly like he hadnt really an idea until he got back from his holidays?

How we can be scrambling around like this with a few weeks to go just beggars belief.  I see people on other forums ask questions like "what would you do?" or "as if you know any f ucking better".  Well I know one thing, at least half the support knew in February/March we had a big f ucking job on this closed season.  How the manager missed that is beyond me.

I really dont get it... is he really that daft or does he simply not give enough of a f uck?  Honest question like.

I'll just add, his interviews at this stage are starting to grate the scrote out of me. anyway...

Anyone with half a clue about football knew this close season was massive for the club and for Jackie.  Anyone thinking otherwise doesn't have a clue about the game.

As for Jackie IMO he doesn't give a fuck and is seeing time out until he gets his payoff.  Lose the 1st few games and he'll be away with a big payoff and his reputation fairly intact because to everyone outside the club and its support it just looks like Thomson is selling all the quality from under him and leaving him short.

Re: jackie on zone

Where does this 'Jackie doesn't give a fuck and is waiting for a payoff' theory even come from?

It's like it's become accepted fact.

Re: jackie on zone

Just so we're clear, I put the quesiton out there because I really, genuinely dont know... I'm at a loss for words with him I really am.

I dont think the payout thing will happen because I think ST is perfectly happy with the job JMAC is doing.  All these folk thinking he'll be gone by September are wrong IMO.  I said at the end of last season there is no way JMAC is not our manager on game 1.  I'll extend that to the Christmas period.  ST created a situation where business is more important than onfield matters with the MANAGER, who should be only 100% focused on the product on the park.  With that in mind, it would have to be an absolutely catastrophic situation for ST to pull the plug on the manager.  For me, thats hard to get my head around.

SG, if JMAC does give a fuck then, he's absolutely incompetent. Not sure which is worse.

It's either that or he's absolutely clueless and I don't think he's that stupid.

Re: jackie on zone

I think the long and short of it is that he's never been a good defensive coach, the sales of Armstrong and GMS had a massive impact not just on the team on the pitch but of the morale in the changing room, then we played Celtic four times in a row and the season just went to pot.

He did badly, there's no doubt and his signing of Anier especially looked like bad business, but it seems to me that most people lost faith in him when they heard about his contract and equated it to not caring about anything other than money. And that's not fair.

I do think that he should have gone at the end of the season so we could have had a fresh start, but he didn't, so why not just get behind him when the season starts?

Re: jackie on zone

Aberdeen, Celtic and Dundee at home, Motherwell, Hamilton and Ross Co away all in August,

Not inconceivable we could lose 5 of those the way things are looking right now, If that happens then Thomson will be forced to make the payoff.

Re: jackie on zone

JMs transfer policy had to be based around whether  Nadir was sold or not. If JM had signed players early we would not be in the  market for the players we are now. Player recruitment is the most important part of the job, he has to get it right

Re: jackie on zone

I haven't watched the zone for ages, there's only so much rhetoric I can take.

As I said on another thread it sounds like he's doing a 180 turn on what he said a few weeks ago, all of a sudden after a few pre season losses (which aren't a valid indicator according to some on here) we ARE pish and need new players.

I for one am shocked by this revelation.
