Re: utrecht tonight

I've never been one to use pre-season games as a yardstick for the season ahead.  I've witnessed so many pre-seasons where we've looked great, then when the real stuff starts we've been horseshit.  Remember we played Everton at Tannadice under McCall, played really well, Colin Samuel scored and I thought he would score a barrow-load of goals for us and we looked a right good side.  Well we all know how that turned out.

If we are still total pish once the real stuff starts then fair enbough, I'll start to worry.

Fair point.

Think it's more the continuation of poor form from February onwards and losing Butcher, Rado and Ciftci and not replacing them that's sending folk into panic mode a bit though SA.

Agree mate, I am kind of at the end of my patience with Jackie, he has a lot to prove quickly.  The thing that annoys me most about him is the lack of organisation of the team. When we lost GMS and Amrstrong and looked like we were struggling, we should have went back to basics - organised and hard to beat, but he seems incapable of putting a team out to do that.

That's what gets me about our esteemed manager as well. We were always going to lose those 5 players. That's life for a club in Scotland. It was a bind losing them all so quickly but their is no excuses for the lack of organisation.

I think he'll be away by end of August/start of September

Re: utrecht tonight

I'm honestly just hoping we see a repeat of the Aberdeen and Celtic (1st half) games in the top 6 where we actually looked like there was something there. Cos tbh, the alternative has me near greeting.

Too much commotion

Re: utrecht tonight

Had a look at the Utrecht team from last year to this, only two who started last week started last season.  Their bench contained more starters from last season, which lends itself to the chat about starting with their kids then bringing in the first team.

I've no idea if this has any relevance or merit but I asked the question so wanted to answer it.

Peace.
