Did you watch it?
Are you happy with the performance?
Pre season or not its piss poor.
Jackie said 1 of the things thjs trip was about was fitness.. well where is it?

I didn't watch it, no.
If I had though, I can guarantee I wouldn't be reacting like some on here.
Getting angry about a pre-season friendly is ridiculous. Remember two seasons ago? Boys were going off their nuts about pre-season results. Within six months those same boys were comparing the team with the league winning team. Crack on.
How many of that starting line-up will even be first choice this season? Six tops.
I'll happily take run arounds in pre-season from anyone if the squad comes back ready for the new season. I think they will be.

I don't give a fuck about what's going on a board level, oz, manager cuts or debt.
It is only a friendly but I just don't think the manager has got it. I personally think he's chucked it. Players didn't look fit.

Thank fuck I'm in Turkey.

Theres been nae improvement fae the first game the players looked lost disorganised and not fit tonight.
Id imagine 4 o that starting 11 somt start against aberdeen but what do we have to replace them with at this time?
Getting hammered every game cant be doing anything for the players confidence surely?

You should maybe have watched it before having a go at folk tbh T6.
Pre-season friendly or not it was very concerning just how poor we were.
Folk are entitled to give an opinion on where they see the squad currently surely ?

As I said TEK, no matter how bad it was I wouldn't have reacted the way some have on here. Simply because it's little more than pre-season training. United aren't there to win matches. They didn't have Utrecht watched before the game. They didn't identify weaknesses and try to exploit them. They didn't roll up their sleeves and get tore in when it became clear they were up against better players.
Because that's not what this is about. It's the next stage of pre-season. I can't overstate it enough - I couldn't care less how the team performs at this stage. To me it's irrelevant. If it's a step towards getting the team ready for the new season, bring it on.
Like I said, I believe they will be.

As i said previously... our manager stated 1 of the things the tours about is fitness...
Why do we look as though we are lacking it so bad?
This isnt something thats just happened over night its been on going.

Did they look unfit or did they look as if they were playing against better players?
It can look very similar.

Bit of both, but what's worrying me was how slow united were at closing down and how isolated players became - sometimes it did look as though they didn't have the energy to get into position or to chase.
If these games were in isolation it might not be so bad but they seem to be carrying the problems we all saw in the second half of last season.
Sometimes when a side is going through a bad patch you can still see how things might improve, but I'm really struggling to see that with the current squad.

They were better but it did look like a lot of them weren't fit.

I too have bookmarked this thread for when we get beat from Aberdeen and Dundee

I possibly agree that it's only pre-season and is about getting match fit BUT with decent opposition ahead in qpr and Watford, which let's be honest we'll probably get beat, would it not have been better getting slightly lesser opposition where we could start winning games and scoring goals to boost confidence.
Offline
Said this on mad, Real Madrid do it every year and score heaps oh goals to boost them
We'll potentially get horsed the remaining games with lots of goals against
This is fucking shite

I'd agree with that.
Time will tell what effect it has - if indeed they do go on to lose them all.

Nothing positive to take from that.
Connolly still looks to lightweight - too easily brushed aside.I agree,he's looked lost out there a bit today.
The thing about Connolly is that because he's direct and can dribble, it tends to mask the glaring faults in his game (namely decision making and passing).
Only watched the first half today but at one point he got the ball when a break was potentially on and hit a pass all the way through to the Utrecht keeper when Muirhead was just beyond the half way line.
That's useless.

Only thing I remember about last night:
Utrecht fans love RODNEY (Doesn't know if signing)
Alcohol served on tap
Dixon saying we're horrific after the match
Having a conversation about hamstrings and God to Bilate during the game
Hugging everyone after the match (other than the management team of course)
Don't ask what happened on the fiekd

The joys of pre season mate.

They absolutely loved Rodney. Highly doubt he signs from his facial expressions/ demeanour after the game.

It looked like they were unfit (apart from Murray who was all over the place for his 30 mins max) on the pitch.
It also looked like they had never seen a football before or even heard of tactics.
It genuinely was attrocious.

Thought Murray did look hungry.
Hard to gauge how good, bad or indifferent he is though as the ball barely came to him or any of the attackers.
