St.Mirren's John McGinn

Is now also reportedly on our radar.

He's currently on trial at Owen Coyle's Houston Dynamo and a decision is due to be made on him by the end of the week.

Utd are apparently gonna pounce if he gets knocked back.

Just read this article someone posted on Twitter.

Re: St.Mirren's John McGinn

Do St Mirren not want a crazy development fee for him? I'm sure I read it was a couple of hundred thousand?

Hope this doesnt mean what I think it means. Surely he would be being considered as a direct replacement for Soapy Souttar.

Souttar seamingly has knocked back the contract offer... could a move away go towards to development fee for mcginn then?

Either that or it's some posturing from Thompson to make it look like he's prepared to make moves in the transfer market to keep the fans off his back.

I doubt McGinnn will sign, especially for £170k.

Snjeider is a possibility, but I'm not sure what the attraction would be for him to sign for United when he has been linked to bigger teams in the past.

McKay would be a decent signing on paper, but probably unlikely if its true that we've had two bids rejected.  That makes me think that there is no intent to sign him from United.

If these players don't sign up, am I the only one concerned that all we seem to be doing is bring in young players when we need more solid experience in the team.

If Paton gets the jail I can see his contract being ripped up.  Rankin could be in his last season as a first team regular.  McGowan is in his last year of his contract.  Dillon isn't a regular starter.  That leaves Dixon after this year as the only experienced player in the team, the rest are kids and I honestly don't know if any of them have the attitude to take the game by the scruff of the neck and instill confidence in the rest of the team.

Oooooohhhh yeeeeeaaaaaah!!

Re: St.Mirren's John McGinn

His two brothers play for Dundee.

Read somewhere that Houston have already filled their overseas players quota. Unless they move someone on, they won't be signing McGinn.

Re: St.Mirren's John McGinn

Mcginn would be a fantastic signing in my opinion I really rate him he's far better than both Paton and Rankin so would definetly improve our team

He's just been released by a second tier Dutch side and he's on trial with us. I would suggest that it's more than likely he's interested in signing for us.

Re: St.Mirren's John McGinn

Courier reporting 2nd bid was "in excess of £100k" and that "are expected to make a 3rd bid"

Oops, wrong thread...bloody phone...  (embarrassed)

According to Stubbs, Will sign for Hibs today. Fee agreed with St.Mirren. Subject to medical.

Shelling out six figures for a midfielder can only mean one thing.
