Dundee United will 'quality player' Sneijder tie for two or three years

EXCLUSIVE - Rodney Sneijder is about to sign a contract with Dundee United. That Voetbal Primeur confirm sources. The Dutch midfielder (24) play this week at the Scottish formation along in the practice matches with AZ (Tuesday) and FC Utrecht (Thursday).

Including from the former player RKC Waalwijk and FC Utrecht trained the last few days along with Dundee. The club of the number five in the Scottish Premier League Sneijder finds a quality player. " His coming would be an "absolute necessity." The versatile midfielder made during practice sessions impresses with its good kick and driven impression.

Sneijder has a contract offer being considered. Sources let Football Scoop that he end of this week will draw a two- or three-year contract in Scotland.

Last season the former Ajax player was under contract to Almere City. Now he is therefore to work for Dundee United. That club turned out in recent years, a nice step up to the top. Just last week, nadir çiftçi Dutchman made the switch from The Terrors at Celtic. "

Looks promising. Almost signed for Madrid a few years back but big brother Wes put the kibosh on it.

The ideal signing for United. Lad with a good pedigree who looks to have lost his way a wee bit.

Very interesting rumour at last.

He has some pedigree,rising through the ranks at Ajax Academy,wanted by Real Madrid,then at Utrecht (still a massive club over there).

As recently as 3 years ago he's scoring a double against PSV Eindhoven on his Waalwjik debut.

Question must be at just 24 why has his career floundered so badly that he's just been released by a Dutch 1st Division side,given the talent he obviously possessed as a youngster.Looks like he is pretty much on the scrapheap and has a lot to prove perhaps.

Very intriguing player to be linked with,but he must (of course) be judged on his own individual merits and not his famous footballing surname.

Excited to see how he does later on tonight.

Exciting news, and as you said, has pedigree and will probably fit right in at Celtic in a couple of years, ha ha.

Not a position we lack numbers in but at 24 he's hopefully ready to perform every week.

"He’s been recommended to United by Pierre van Hooijdonk, manager Jackie McNamara’s team-mate during their days at Celtic and the man who recommended Nadir Ciftci two years ago.

Sneijder’s list of former clubs includes Ajax, where he was a youth player as well as a first-team squad member for a season but didn’t break through.

He also had a spell on loan at home-town outfit FC Utrecht — United’s opponents in the third game of their Dutch tour on Thursday.

Most recently he’s been with Almere City, a Second Division side, but left there at the end of the season.

It was reported that was because back in February they’d prevented him from teaming up with his older brother at Turkish giants Galatasaray, something the club strenuously denied.

There was more speculation in May the brothers would be teaming up in Turkey, but the move didn’t happen and he also turned down offers from the Turkish second tier because he wanted to play at a higher level.

As well as turning out tonight, reports in Holland suggest he’ll get that chance at United.

They say he’s discussed personal terms with United and is close to clinching a move to Tannadice."

Sounds like he's on the way.

No wanting to be negative but theres alot of comments online slating the laddie. Obviously he deserves a chance and hopefully is a top quality player

No sign of injuries in the past but i'm sure we can sort that out after all McCulloch is back in the SPFL with Killie
