In Standard Grade English, we called that an oxymoron.
But it's true.
Just a short blog but a lot of figures in there that make you realise just how far gone the game in Scotland is.
People continually call me an idealist and a fantasist when I mention a return to gate sharing. Until someone comes up with a better idea to make our game more competitive and fair...

That is the sad reality of our situation as a Football Club T6.
Here's a link to some more on the actual report it is based on:

Yip, as mentioned in the summer football thread football, as a competition, is fucked in Scotland, the point in the blog about Celtic paying 25 times more than Ross Co, or that their wages are more than all of their competitors combined illustrates that perfectly.
As much as I would love to see a wage cap or an equal share of gate income it probably will never happen again, Celtic aren't going to offer it and as we've seen many times since the SPL/SPFL was formed the diddy teams have no backbone.
I still live in hope that we can get rid of Celtic, and I'm hoping Sky might push for them and Sevco in EPL at sometime in the future, things would be fairer.
Aberdeen and Hearts would be bigger than United and Hibs who would be bigger than St Johnstone and Inverness etc but we would be talking about the 1.5 times rather than 25 times bigger budget and there would be four or five genuine title contenders every season.
With focus on youth and good coaching and management in 25 years we might have 10 different champions.

That has always been my view too Andy. The Chairman of all Clubs and those administering and running our game pander to them and the other arse cheeks at every opportunity; they basically get all the money; yet they still get away with disrespecting the SPFL and therefore the product at every opportunity. As will be proven when they announce their usual glamour friendly at the expense of another SPFL, hopefully, as soon as they are out of Europe!
For anyone interested here are the stats relative to us. I know that I repeat myself sometimes (but not as much as some) however you basically end up corresponding to your financial outlay and we are effectively the 6th biggest team in Scotland. So 5 major trophies in 35 years is punching above our weight statistically, albeit we should have won more, so our problem is probably one of unrealistic expectations:
We all revel in the ability to taunt other teams of them not paying their bills and in the case of one major one, that they are no longer the same team! Our Club have made a moral decision (that I'm sure we all agree with) to pay back our debts and this has torpedoed a MASSIVE, PROBABLY NEVER TO BE SEEN AGAIN OPPORTUNITY IN MY LIFETIME to add to our silver haul; but my only gripe is that I would like an explanation in what changed between the Whitehall Theatre last year and now? I'm a realist and I'll continue to support my team, but I drove 140 miles that night to attend that meeting, which was supposed to be a perk of being a season ticket holder and I value honesty, integrity and the truth, so I feel a bit cheated and used if I'm honest.

Fkt,could not have put it better especially your last summary of your feelings,I for one are very sceptical about jmacs management skills / transfer dealings since he came here. But do not want go madesque about it,I think the first 4 games of the season will decide in which way our club is heading for the foreseeable future ,unless we make some signings ? Think the loan signing of the pony tailed one is a lot o shyte also,FTD
