Re: Stevie May

Aberdeen and Hearts also in for him.

We,however, have the added incentive of being able to GUARANTEE him a move to Celtic next Summer #BaNtZ

Re: Stevie May

We've had, Goodie, Gauld, Russell, Ciftci, Armstrong, GMS all better players in my opinion than Stevie May on our books in recent years that we actually owned.

And after selling 5 players for 7.8m in the last year we want this cunt on LOAN?

Fuck off.

We can either afford to buy him and pay his wages or we can't, what a shite state of affairs.

That's before I get to his tattoo of a poke of chips.

Re: Stevie May

Totally agree but our chairman won't  unfortunately thats the way our club is ran and he will keep selling . we are stuck in a loop we Thompson and Jackie but this is best bit transfer news we have had all summer Ken its shite it's a loan deal but at least it's some sort of news .

Re: Stevie May

As much as I hate loan signings, think this would be a good one, would work well with either Muirhead or Bilate, even decent up top on own. Dont think there is much better on offer as a free transfer, especially a proven goal scorer in SPFL.

Re: Stevie May

Any idea how much he earns a week at Sheffield Wednesday?

A loan deal would surely be the only option unless he was getting a pay off.

Re: Stevie May

I  would take this cunt, but I can't see one good reason why he'd pick us over Aberdeen or Hearts tbh.

Re: Stevie May

^^^What Silver says^^^

If he goes to the Sheep, Goodie is even more finished than he is now.

And if Hearts can afford him, well that shows you that Admin is unfair on anyone that pays their bills.......see T6's American Socialism thread!

Re: Stevie May

It will probably come down to which team can pay or are willing to pay a large percentage of his wage.

If we're all fairly similar, it will come down to the pull of Europe and challenging in the top few places with Aberdeen or guaranteed games with United or Hearts.

A signing like this would certainly raise spirits. You'd imagine it would mean another spell on loan for Murray unless he scores a few in the next few games. Forward options of May, (a fit) Bilate and Muirhead would be decent. Anier will need to get his finger out in the next month or we may have to cut our losses.

Re: Stevie May

Would be a great signing, even on loan as long as it was for the season, him and Muirhead up top would do me.

United and Hearts offer him the chance to move back to Perth if that's a factor.

Any word on why they are prepared to let him go?  I thought he was doing well there.

Re: Stevie May

Wednesday sacked their manager Stuart Gray at the end of the season (who signed May) and got in a Portuguese Manger a month ago.

Re: Stevie May

He's a good player but I'm not convinced he'd suit the way we play (ie on the deck with a bit of fluency). He was more suited to the scrappy way St Johnstone (and dare I say Aberdeen) play. Is Jackie willing to adapt? He wasn't when Goodie re-signed.

He is also nothing like as good as Goodie circa 2009-11 or Russell which is depressing. However, anything which gives the club a lift is fine by me so if we sign him I'd be delighted.

Too much commotion

Exactly!  Unless he sees it as a shortcut to Celtic...

Re: Stevie May

Don't see this one happening tbh.  Time will tell but I'm not holding my breath.  Personally would prefer McKay anyway but don't see that one coming off either.

Re: Stevie May

anyone who would prefer McKay over May has been watching different games from me. May managed to score 20+ goals in a team that does very little attacking, plus if ST Johnstone took the lead Wright moved May into midfield.
Until there is a qoute from JM this is just tabloid speculation.

Re: Stevie May

Untill a player is officially signed I am paying zero attention to all these rumours. I have no faith whatsoever in this board/management team to be able to pull off either May or Mckay sadly.

Oh, I don't know - both Jackie and ST have been called wankers more than once on various boards.
