Dundee Utd v Vitesse Arnhem - Friday 10th July 7.30pm (RKSV Driel)

So Gents it all starts again tonight.

McCallum will be starting and McNamara has stated that EVERY outfield player (think there's 18 in total) will play in the match at some point.

Got 1 or 2 people from here attending so hopefully get a wee match summary affy them later on or tomorrow (hangover permitting)?

Should do.

But be good to hear from people there how they thought McCallum, Durnan, Donaldson etc played.

Dont be too critical guys,we have lost the spine of the team,no1,5,10,9 and the best winger in Scotland. It will take time for all the replacement signings to bed in.

First pre season game, trying things out (I guess/hope).

Plenty of time for proper panic later

Scoreline I expected.

Not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

Dow going off injured too, just to cap off a great start to the Holland tour.

If Dow is out that's a big loss tbh.

However, if we're going into the season with him as a definite starter, which looks likely, I fucking despair

That's possibly a bit harsh on the lad. He's ok but he's an impact player IMO and still way too inconsistent

Re: Dundee Utd v Vitesse Arnhem - Friday 10th July 7.30pm (RKSV Driel)

This is the update I got from mate over there:

"Utd were shite.  McGowan struggled against a 15yr old first half.  Durnan had a mare.  Dillon is a bombscare.  Dow went off injured but played well.  Oh and I saw Anier hit a shot on target!"

Wish I'd gone now as at least then I could currently be having a brownie or two to numb the pain.

Re: Dundee Utd v Vitesse Arnhem - Friday 10th July 7.30pm (RKSV Driel)

If Anier is our first choice striker i'm flushing the season ticket down the toilet

-that boy is fucking gash -that game at Dens when we lost -Stevie Wonder would have took him off at half time too

-least Atangana got into offside positions.

Oh, what came of the things we once believed?

The post above sums up the current state of our club,if Dow was out injured for a long period 2 seasons ago naebody would even have noticed. He gets injured tonight and one of our KEY players may miss a few games.I honestly wonder what planet Jackie was on when he said he was happy to go with the players we have.Three keepers aged 22,22 and 21 will fight it out for the NO1 jersey and everyone of them are SPFL standard according to the highest paid manager in our history.

Re: Dundee Utd v Vitesse Arnhem - Friday 10th July 7.30pm (RKSV Driel)

I'm starting to wonder if the whole we're good enough to go with the players we have thing is really a smokescreen for JMAC's lazy non-existent efforts at scouting new signings. We are now fumbling around with trialists because he simply put no work in whatsoever to identify any targets.

Got a match report from a fb friend in Holland who said Vitesse played their youth team 1st half then subbed tgem all at ht a played the 1st team second half. McCallum didnt do much wrong. McGowan seemingly got the runaround from a 15 year old. Durnan had a mare, Dillon was a bombscare. Dow was doing well before he went off injured. We barely touched the ball second half but Anier did get a shot on target. Most Utd fans rubbered the second half in favour of beers and a bbq.
