The Who - Tommy
Never really got into The Who until fairly recently. This album is just magic and in the age of shuffle it's still one that I listen to all the way through. Some utter class tracks on it
The Smiths - The Queen is Dead
Just my favourite album of all time. Usually listen to a few tracks off it at least once a week. Its perfect

De La Soul - 3 feet high and rising
Love a bit of hip hop and this was the 1st hip hop album that I got into and is probably in my top 3 hip hop albums. Public Enemy would be a bit heavy for alone time
The Fall - I am Kurious Oranj
Fantastic album. Only got into the Fall about 7 years ago. Listen to them all the time now. Love Mark E SMith

Primal Scream - Screamadelica
Was 14 in 1990. Basically grew up, got hole, drank a lot, partied in the Early to mid 90s. This was a significant part of the soundtrack
The Band - The Band
Just a beautiful album. Listen to a lot. Great musically. Not a bad track on it

Oasis - Definitely Maybe
18. Left school. United won cup
Pixies - Surfer Rosa
Favourite US band. Loud as fuck. Songs about incest. Tits on cover

You can take 2 books with you.
1 that you've previously read and 1 that that you always meant to get round too.
Which books and why?
Ken what? Don't read as much as I should. Would probably take Catch 22 by Joseph Heller to read again. Great book. Very funny.
I book that I've not read but I actually own it would be Das Kapital. Read a page of it for a Marxism course I did at Uni but if I'd be on an island I would dip into it again.

What one other inanimate object would you take with you on the island if you could?

If you could take one Dundee Utd match on video to watch over and over again...what match would you choose?
Not going to pick a cup final. Would maybe be that game v Celtic in 1997 at Tannadice. We were just up. Had started the season shitely. Got Tommy McLean in. Kjell, Lars, Eric. Todto they bastards at Tannadice in the last minute was fucking magic. Did damage to their league hopes as well. Its up there with celebrations
Took a fucking age to go in. It was BEDLAM in the East Stand though. Fucking bedlam. Got absolutely fucking proper micked that night as well.
Should have won the cup that season.

And finally as the sun set on the Island for the final time in your life what song would you like to play out?

I'd be up for doing this at some point.
Might have an album or two from what has already been chosen, but there's no accounting for good taste amongst us Arabs.

THE LIST makes it sound quite sordid. Not sure I like that.
