Tek Towers 'Ultimate 80's Movie' - Round 1/Game 15

Welcome to the final game of Round 1, we have the final 4 movies picked for this competition all ready to go. Disclaimer: this is not meant to be a comprehensive list of movies, many of my personal favourites have been left out (No Monster Squad!!), as I assume many of yours will be as well. Dont fret, this will leave us with plenty of scope to do another one sometime in the future if the demand is there.

Game 14 was an easy win for Axel Foley, who is also joined by the Griswald's, who get an extended vacation to the next round at least. We say goodbye and a big F U to Freddy and the Poltergeist, who got well and truly busted.

Round 1/Game 15

Groovy

Trivia: A glove belonging to Freddy Krueger can be seen hanging above the door of the tool shed when Ash carves his girlfriends head with a chainsaw. This was in response to the use of the original 'Evil Dead' being played on a television screen in the first 'Nightmare on Elm Street'.

Hey you guuuuuuuuuuyyyss!!!!

Released: 1985
Director: Richard Donner
Domestic Box Office: $61'400'000
Trivia: After filming was complete, director Richard Donner decided to get away from being surrounded by child actors for the past 3 months, and Donner and his wife decided to go to Hawaii for a few weeks holiday. GOONIES!!!!!

Thought Blade Runner is overrated imo, I really like Stand By Me I find it very engaging, and Evil Dead II is just sick and a blast to watch. Bruce Campbell is great in this and the third movie.

But my vote has to go to The Goonies! I love everything about it, the locations and the musical score just add to it, cant rate it highly enough. And its my oldest daughters favourite movie!

Blade Runner is a great film but is really depressing. I'll go for the Goonies but this is a pretty poor round.

Too much commotion

Re: Tek Towers 'Ultimate 80's Movie' - Round 1/Game 15

Stand By Me.

Have never seen Blade Runner (Sci-Fi not my cup of tea) and only watched Evil Dead 2 years ago (and i was somewhat under the influence of a 'herbal' remedy at the time) and found it laughably bad.

And i HATE The Goonies (i'm sorry Siebby+Siebby Junior ).Bunch of fucking brats IMO.

Hard one, love both Stand By Me and The Goonies. By a whisker I'm going to have to go with Stand By Me.

Re: Tek Towers 'Ultimate 80's Movie' - Round 1/Game 15

Usually, I'd go for the comedy, but in this round Blade Runner would be my choice.

It's only 4 years til 2019, the year in which Blade Runner was set, and the film reflected how inhuman humans may become......... and thinking of how impersonal people have generally turn out to be, unless led and told by the mass media to show emotion as an example, Blade Runner was prophetic.
‘English’ becoming less dominant as a world language was another Blade Runner theme, as were iris recognition, individually targeted advertising, globalisation, and private space travel.

Re: Tek Towers 'Ultimate 80's Movie' - Round 1/Game 15

It has to be the Goonies, I remember training with the guy who played Sloth, he got huge, I mean Orca huge.  He used to eat baby orphans before a training session for the protein.  Now that's commitment.

Oooooohhhh yeeeeeaaaaaah!!
