More palatable then Celtic.

Just because we've accepted their bid doesn't mean Nadir will want to go their though, sadly.

Re: United reject bid for Ciftci

Why are United attracting so much interest in our players, maybe the Club are doing something right maybe in a few years we will look back and say it was a sensible way forward whilst others around us were going down the same old route of knee jerk spending, maybe I'm wrong but i don't mind when a man is looking at my girl

Re: United reject bid for Ciftci

I personally find it tragic as fuck that our fans are almost doing cartwheels everytime we sell one of our best players.

Our fans are just as obsessed with the debt as Thompson is.

You're assuming we'll attempt to 'replace' him Saint Obz lol.

Wouldn't bet on it tbh.

Re: United reject bid for Ciftci

I'd be very surprised if Nadir chose Wigan. He's too good for that level imo (League 1).

I reckon he'll snub their approach and we'll be left to either accept their 900k or hope someone else comes in.

doesn't look like hes going to sign a new deal unfortunately.  Quite gutted about that.

Re: United reject bid for Ciftci

What fans need to remember is.
Out of the fee we get for nadir (or any player for that matter) the money will NOT all go to the manager to strenthen the squad sadly.
Also remember the figure quoted is likely to be bullshit and be short of what is quoted

To sell a player here and there is fine. To potentially sell 6  of our better players within a year is ridiculous.

Re: United reject bid for Ciftci

If we have accepted the 2nd bid in a  day or 2 for him at £1million.. is it just me that thinks the club should have held off for more?

Or does he have a £1million release thats been triggered?

Re: United reject bid for Ciftci

Isnt it just the 1st of july the window opens?

So we have accepted the bid straight away when according to stv news last night several clubs south of the border and in europe are interested

Re: United reject bid for Ciftci

A bid has been accepted as being a level we're willing to have discussions, doesn't mean that'll be the final figure by any means, or that it'll be where he ends up going.  Folk moan about these things being left til the last minute so at least that isn't the case this time.  There has by no means been a deal done yet....

You can agree deals beforehand. Register them from July 1st.

No but Nadir has been granted permission to speak to Wigan which imo means that utd are happy to sell at 1 million otherwise they wouldn't have granted permission.  Now obviously if someone comes in with a higher bid then that'll be accepted too but until then the club are happy to sell at a million.

Re: United reject bid for Ciftci

Agree but by taking that approach it puts the pressure on other Clubs to get their offers in if they are willing to pay more.  If a bidding war is going to begin, it's better to be sooner than later as has already been pointed out, leaving these things to the last minute isn't great.  The Club got pelters (and rightly so IMO) for doing that previously so to me, it looks like they are taking the opposite approach this time.  Realistically we're never going to get miles over £1m and again, just my opinion, but I think £1m is a pretty fair price considering the circumstances but by allowing Nads to speak to Wigan, it'll be the trigger for other Clubs to come in quickly if they want to.  If not, then I personally would be happy with £1m but that's obviously just a personal opinion and understand everyone will have their own views on the figure etc....  As others have pointed out, he may not even want to go to Wigan anyway!!!

Re: United reject bid for Ciftci

dont get me wrong £1m is alot more than i thought we would get but if there is seversl clubs interested a bidding war may commence. bitegait obviously aint putting clubs off which is good for utd.
