Has it actually been a 900k upfront bid or is it 900k with add ons?
Was wondering that myself. On a guess might be upfront with septic as they don't like debts hanging about if they can help it.

Yep, sooner rather than later for me. He is going to go I think, so would be good to get this done, dusted and put to bed quick style.

How long do we gave grumpy puss to throw the toys out the pram and demand a move?

True, part of the reason I hope another bid does come in from someone other than septic. That would just crucify any power we do have.

What percentage do the club get of any sale?
Not trying to bring up old arguments but surely there needs to be a balance between selling to be worth it and selling for the sake of it...
Say for arguments sake, we get 1m.
Off comes tax - so down to what 800k? It's rumoured nadir has a hefty chunk of a fee owed to him - so say 20% - leaves us with 640k. Another 10% to management team - leaves us with 560k.
Can you balance up cup wins and league points against that? And that's only in monetary terms.
Consider the fact that fans actually like to win things and it's maybe not worth our while
Doubt the management team will get 10%, the bonus was a capped one, which has already been hit

Whats the management teams reported percentage per transfer again ?

Ciftci is a talented player, however he plays for Nadir Ciftci not Dundee United. A successful team needs 11 players pulling the same way. Take the money and move on.

Geegee, I don't know the ins and outs of the management's contract and I didn't know they were capped... is this annually capped or is it per season?
I don't wish to get into the same old arguments so will avoid any more chat - just a genuine attempt to put some scale on what we could take or pass up on compared against league placings.

John the prick Collins on Sky news confirming they've made an enquiry.
Bunch of utter cunts.
We should move our academy over there for handiness.
Let's just get this over and done with asap.

Agree with that Beharder.
First season he was playing for the team, last season too many times he was playing for himself and if things were not going his way then the toys were out of the pram.
Boy is a mavrick of a player and have loved watching him in spells but it's time for him to move on as keeping him here when he would prefer to be elsewhere be counter-preductive IMO.
We are however now falling further behind Celtic and Aberdoom and can only see us realistically looking at scrapping a top 6 place and maybe a semi or two in the cups if the draw is kind to us

Shifty gets 30%. Was major factor in him signing it. All in all the club would get around 50% of any deal with the rest going to other parties.

Yeah. Would rather he didn't go there but if we get 7 figures then it's a no brainer for me.

Whilst that fucking sucks if he hadn't of signed an extension he would have already have been paraded at Celtic Park and we would have got fuck all.

I'm not slating nadir - but it's roughly where we are (I'm not privy to contracts or who's offered what).
However, it shows the club has options. It's up to us to decide whether we want him to stay or whether we take the cash.
Players have too much control nowadays - sometimes clubs should flex their muscles than just bending over

If Ciftci want to leave we should let him go. Take what we can and start rebuilding

10% mate. As far as I'm aware it's not capped.

Agree, with players I don't have an issue getting that sort of deal. It's only way they'll sign. Armstrong had same sort of deal but not as high a percentage. The chairman asked if Armstrong would waive his cut.

Knocking back Celtic out of hand has a feel of be careful what you wish for about it...
If Middlesbrough are serious about bidding we just knocked out a competing bid which can only drive their price down.
For the avoidance of doubt I'd be well p****d off if he went to Celtic...but I'd be utterly f#;':£d off if we ended up selling him for far less than we could have got as a consequence of the board playing to the crowd rather than taking a proper commercial decision.

He's going to Celtic, just the game playing of Lawwell trying to prove he can get bargains and Thomson trying to prove he's not selling on the cheap.
As long as the money left after all the cuts are taken is used to improve the key areas with quality ready to go right in the 1st 11 then I don't mind.
I get the argument of improving our rivals by selling to them, but the reality is they will win the league and at least 1 cup with or without him, it makes no difference.

Exactly my feelings. Politically Celtic have to go over the 1 million figure with their bid. For the meantime they will pull back on Souttar. Expect one or two Celtic young or fringe players to head towards Tannadice, perhaps on loan deals or otherwise. In the circumstances, United have to be seen to be getting a good deal. We are desperately needing experienced players in key areas. Celtic can probably provide them, one way or another ( Webbie style?).

The most unsurprising (but depressing) pieces of news of the close season thus far (and it's been pretty damn depressing as it is).
My take is that both Ciftci and Souttar have been 'tapped up' by Celtic (Souttar maybe by someone else also).Utd have got wind of this and fearing the backlash of losing our remaining two best players to Celtic have went very public in offering them new contracts (something we never do) knowing the whole time deep down neither will likely sign it.An attempt to take the 'heat' off the club.
We are all used to selling players as Utd fans. We've been a selling club always.
But i'm pig sick of all this now tbh.Feels like far too many people looking after themselves and the fans getting slapped in the face time after time.
Jackie+Co's 10%..Nadir's 30%...ST in Oz persuing his other 'business interests'...meanwhile absolute silence from Tannadice and other teams signing players left, right and centre.
Would seem very few inside Tannadice actually give much of a fuck about Utd at the moment and are just here in the short-term to line their pockets as much as they can before they fuck off.
Pish.

It's not great but it the way of the world now.
I'd be more fussed about losing Souttar than the biter tbh

Let's not christen Nadir as 'The Biter' yet, until he's found guilty and even then it's only on the balance of probability, he's been the victim of a sevco bastard and his cliping prick ways.
If he goes to Celtic, he's a rabid cunt who deserves the jail.

To an extent yes,i agree.
The club have chosen this model to get round of this never-ending debt hanging over us.But where does it all end?
Do we just sell 2 or 3 players each season now and never attempt to build a team to challenge for anything?
The top flight is only going to get more competitive in the next 5 years with the return of a strong Hearts,Aberdeen continuing to strengthen,Motherwell looking to return to being a top 6 side,Killie strengthening,County looking like they have a good Manager in the dug-out,ICT no mugs at all,Hibs eventually returning stronger,Sevco eventually coming up (and Celtic having to raise their game even more as a consequence).
We seem to be the one big side in the country i can see who is 'stagnating' and standing still.
Without wishing to be the harbinger of doom (i really don't want to be),i am very concerned about things as they stand.
