Tek Towers 'Ultimate 80's Movie' - Round 1/Game 10

Thank you for the numbers for this game european_bob.

Game 9 saw a Lethal Weapon misfire with no votes and Batman going sulking back to his wonderful toys as they both join the list of movies that are eliminated. The Regulators of Young Guns go riding bareback unseeded through to the next round, joined by Jamie Lee Curtis's breasts in Trading Places as the winner. Well done to both of them. And the two movies.

Director: Nicholas Meyer
Domestic Box Office: $78'900'000

human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!

Loved Ghostbusters as a kid (like everyone else).

But these days i would be most likely to watch Planes,Trains and Automobiles. So that gets my vote.

FFS, gonna go all tactical and vote for Star Trek since Ghostbusters will surely go through.

This quiz is evil.

P,T & A TA. Watched this again only a few months ago and it just made me laugh looking at John Candy R.I.P. His body and soul lives on in the mould of friend and fellow Arab Stuart Cox

Hear their shout, hear their roar
They've probably had a barrel of ale and much, much more
Hooray, hooray, hooray, yeah
Over the hill went the swords of a thousand men

Re: Tek Towers 'Ultimate 80's Movie' - Round 1/Game 10

Star Trek 2 is fine, The Thing is really good and tense and the directors commentary on the dvd with Kurt Russel is great.

Great to see Planes, Trains getting some love. Probably my favourite John Hughes movie. Was going to vote for that tactically as I thought Ghostbusters was a sure thing, but alas this could be another Gremlins shock exit, so my vote goes to GHOSTBUSTERS!!!

Re: Tek Towers 'Ultimate 80's Movie' - Round 1/Game 10

Also sad to hear about James Horner who died in a plane crash yesterday morning in California.

A great Oscar winning film composer, who's past works included Aliens, 48 Hours, Braveheart and the movie in this game, Star Trek The Wrath of Khan.

Wrath of Khan was his first acclaimed musical score, and he also has a very fleeting cameo in the movie as a crew member on board the Enterprise.

RIP James Horner.

PTaA. Still very watchable.

Would have been a lot tougher decision had it been Ghostbusters II.

Aye, just like Titanic too. Be quite a few tears shed at his funeral if they play some of those tunes.
