Had a wee conversation we Stobie the day. He's just a tad frustrated we the negativity the now, he's a passionate guy.

He'll be back tho, pretty sure o that.

A lot of people are frustrated just now, for some reason a divide has been made between people who are positive and can say no wrong about the club and the others being the guys with concerns over the club, management and playing staff.

It's all about opinions though....

Re: ciao for now

The more posters from mad who come over to TT the more TT will become like Mad.

Simple really.

I very rarely posted on Mad because I thought it was full of roasters but when I found out about about here I gave it a go and liked it, the last wee while it has been going slightly 'Mad'

Since subscribing here I have enjoyed this board. But since certain Maddies have joined  the difference is noticeable. Not yet fully-blown MAD thanks to great moderating and admin. But the potential is there. Keep on top of it, TEK.

Re: ciao for now

See i think thats aload of shite about certain posters from mad  joining and there now being a differance to here.

The differance simply is opinions and some people are not happy with other peoples opinions.

People that post on internet forums need to remember that not everyone will agree on every subject all the time.

If you dont agree with someone and cant avoid turning in into a constant arguement just ignore them.

Of course it's about opinions.  Unfortunately. some opinions appear to be agenda driven. But that's just my opinion!

Whether it is agenda driven or not leedsy that seems to be the excuse for alot on forums recently that opinions are agendas mate

Re: ciao for now

Personally speaking, I've no problem whatsoever with different opinions. It would be a pretty boring forum if everyone towed the same line on everything. I've had differences of opinion with various posters on here and Mad. A debate is great, and it can often let you see another point of view.

What ruined Mad was when snidey, smartarse responses became popular currency. It became an in-joke to shoot other posters down.

Running alongside that was the desire in some to write off players in the most drastic fashion in the shortest possible time. Donkey, wage-thief, sometimes worse. It became a pretty miserable and depressing board to read.

Say what you like, elements of it are creeping in here.

Re: ciao for now

my opinions are always based on what gives us the best chance of winning the next match. Personal abuse of any staff at Tannadice, agenda driven or not it not the way to succeed.

Re: ciao for now

Has anyone had a look at Mad lately? Wow!

Just had a browse through there. . . . it's hilarious. The multiple usernames from so called grown men. . . The name calling. . . . Accusations, threats, and bickering. The list goes on.

I like this forum, it appears to be pretty balanced.

I suppose I'm quite like Stobie in a way, I hate constant negativity. I get that it's people's opinions and everyone's may well be different, but some people just seem to thrive on negativity. It's gets quite grinding eventually.

Let's all have a wee team cuddle and then look forward to the season ahead. I for one, am totally up for it.

It's just folk having the same argument over and over again.

It has to stop. We need to move on. They banned politics threads but let that shite fester

It's really the same on all United forums to a large degree at the moment.

People don't have anything new to discuss so it's the same people arguing the same points they've been arguing since the January Transfer Window closed.

Re: ciao for now

I dinna hae a problem with different opinions and we're all supposed to want the best for our team after all; but the sheer tedium of the same old same old being repeated is wearing, so, in order to move on, I propose we adopt the Tangerine Broken Record to award in circumstances you feel it is merited.  If hit with it by another Poster it's Game Over for that particular line.   Harmless, yet effective hopefully!

I have no idea what the crack is but I hope this is a joke or that cooler heads prevail in time. I only know the Vulture and Tek through the forums, but Vulture has always been a great poster and seems like a top guy as well and really enjoy his banter.

Tek puts in a hell of a lot of work and man hours into this forum to build it up and keep it running, and I'm sure he has thought what's the point more than a few times. He is also another great poster, and the conversations I have had with him on here have been great, and found him to be really genuine and humbling guy and he is the main reason I am posting on here. Nothing but respect from me.

It's not easy for either to manage and run a forum, especially when it's personal friends involved.

I think what has been happening on here recently is down to one word, frustration. Some people feel frustrated at the lack of news/communication/signings/dismal run of form at the end of last season etc coming out of Tannadice, and some others are getting frustrated with the negativity this is perceived from other people. It seems the same old arguments/discussions are getting started again and again, one thread finishes up and then something triggers it in another.

No matter where you stand on things or how we articulate it I don't think we will change anyone's minds on the matter now. We should all try and keep this in mind and act like adults, try and turn the frustration into respect for your fellow poster and friend. At the end of the day I might have an opinion different than say of an Affshore or an Arabugsy but I would like to think if we ever met up before a game we would buy each other a drink and have a good laugh. Same goes for any poster on here.

Tomorrow is another day, hit the reset button and start fresh. Nothing but here.

Superb, as ever, Sieb.

Just shout for me in the Heggie , apart from the sheep game.

On the money Silver, Mad has a lot of morons. It's a shame for decent posters putting up good threads and makings good points.

Glad this forum is here, lost interest on even reading Mad in the end. Keep up the good work TEK and hope to see Stobie back soon!

I really don't want to see us go down this road tbh.

People naming other posters who they reckon are ruining the board etc.

Absolutely no good can come of it.

Stobie has decided to no longer post,he's said goodbye..everyone has had their chance to have their say,and i'll try to take on board peoples opinions. For my part i've stated in some capacity my concerns and why i made the decision to just moderate the board myself again for awhile.

People can continue to ask me anything they want regards the Forum via PM and i will reply to them.

Hopefully the board will get back to the largely harmonious place it was 6 months ago.
