Sorry to hear that SV, but maybe you can fight negativity from the front line easier than from the command post
I hope so

Can't work out if this is a joke or not Stobes.
If it's not, we need to arrange a full speed, head on cracking of skulls on the dual carriageway at the midway point between Stobbie and East Kilbride.

Sorry to hear you will no longer be posting Stobie! Don't be a stranger!

Sorry to hear about this. Honestly dont know what's been said between you 2 guys, and I dont want to know coz it's non of my business. I know that you guys had a difference of opinion on a thread recently (think it might've been the Shifty biting charge thread IIRC).
Dont know you personally Stobie, but think that you're 1 of the best posters on here by far, and your posts are miles ahead of some of the sh1te I post.
This is 1 of the best football forums I've seen, and it's generally the 1st Website I look at in the morning, and the last before I close my eyes at night. Sad b@stard I know. My missus thinks I've lost the plot sometimes, the amount of time I spend looking at this site. Well run site. Great layout. Easy to use. Always to the point, and some great points of view. It's a great achievement TEK.
Hope you guys can sort this out. By goad, it's been a sh1t few months for us Arabs.

I echo all of the above. Surely you can just post without having responsibilities? Please???

OK leaving myself open for attack here as a complete newcomer to this website...so apologies in advance, I may be talking shite...however...whats new?
I like the website so far and appreciate TEKs ambition to keep the recent "disagreements" out the forum...however...from what I have seen its not really being applied across the board...the other day a thread was closed because it was attacking the Fed and AT...and today on about two other threads he nipped it in the bud when it looked likely to go that way...which as I said is fine...if thats what you are aiming for...good moderating....
Now...but...
Today and every day since I joined on a number of threads people have had numerous digs at ST and JM...some of them really really childish and petty..I could if i was bothered go and find them, but they have been along the lines of..."I wonder if JM will get a cut of that"...or "he wouldnt sign him as there would be no sell on bonus" etc, etc...and these comments never seem to be nipped in the bud, and they are from the very people who have made the statements and posts condemning the club...so from my perspective it would appear that TEK's uderstanding of what is an inflamitory statement seems to be very lopsided.
As i said, i may have got the wrong end of the stick as a complete newbie, if i have i apologise but from what i have sen so far I can totally see where Stobie is coming from.
However in the spirit of the website this will be my only comment on it and I will not get into a tit for tat, but will just comment in future on other things

Close season is the problem, there's not actually any football to talk about. Haven't posted much recently for that reason, really can't be arsed with the club politics anymore.
Can see the arguments from both sides tho and don't really think anyone's been that out of order, not sure why anything that's been said would stop anyone posting?
More people on here the better if the sensible tone of posting/moderating is still applied then all opinions should be welcome, we're never all going to agree boys, no point in this place if we did.

A fair post but will try to explain one or two things as best as i can.
A lot of the recent problems have been to do with a school of thought that this place is 'going the way of Utd Mad'.I really dispute that.I know there are certain posters on here who all know each other from that site and i think recently some old grievances are starting to unfortunately surface.
I said from day one of this place ALL opinions would be welcomed no matter how strong they are aslong as there was no personal abuse given or someone was constantly undermining someone else's posts (as i had witnessed happening on Mad latterly with certain posters).
I also said there would be a clean slate given to everyone and i would be a hypocrite to do anything otherwise.
To give you all an example of why this is a good idea i often crossed swords with Leedsy on Mad and when he signed up here i was surprised and a wee bit apprehensive that those old grievances would perhaps resurface.Ken what?he's been absolutely first class on here and i've ended up really warming to him and now enjoy his posts.
It proved to me that the 'clean slate' approach was the best way to go,and that perhaps a different enviroment could cast certain posters in a different light.
In answer to one of your points GG about why did i turn a blind eye to posts about McNamara taking a cut or ST being in Oz.Simply because it was free speech. It has 'Unofficial' at the top of the Board and that's what the site is.To censor that would be trying to quash certain supporters feelings.
I never locked the thread recently btw because it was 'anti-Fed or AT' per se.I have no allegiance to either organisation and as such people can say what they like about them for all i care.I locked it because some posters were getting a wee bitty too personal and i felt it would just esculate and everyone could do with 'cooling off' for the night.I have only locked two threads in a year.So this is not normal practice on here at all.
It's not so much peoples opinions positive or negative that has been the problem for me recently, more the fact that certain posts have had an element of 'wanting a bite' or being just a bit too confrontational.
As for me and Stobie there's no bad blood there (on my part anyway) and if we were a band i think the term would be simply 'artistic differences'.As i said to him i do hope he continues to post on here, and i mean that. But i can understand him perhaps not wanting to also. But he'll always be welcome back with open arms at anytime.
First person to sign-up on here was the Vulture. You don't forget things like that.

I have no idea what the crack is but I hope this is a joke or that cooler heads prevail in time. I only know the Vulture and Tek through the forums, but Vulture has always been a great poster and seems like a top guy as well and really enjoy his banter.
Tek puts in a hell of a lot of work and man hours into this forum to build it up and keep it running, and I'm sure he has thought what's the point more than a few times. He is also another great poster, and the conversations I have had with him on here have been great, and found him to be really genuine and humbling guy and he is the main reason I am posting on here. Nothing but respect from me.
It's not easy for either to manage and run a forum, especially when it's personal friends involved.
I think what has been happening on here recently is down to one word, frustration. Some people feel frustrated at the lack of news/communication/signings/dismal run of form at the end of last season etc coming out of Tannadice, and some others are getting frustrated with the negativity this is perceived from other people. It seems the same old arguments/discussions are getting started again and again, one thread finishes up and then something triggers it in another.
No matter where you stand on things or how we articulate it I don't think we will change anyone's minds on the matter now. We should all try and keep this in mind and act like adults, try and turn the frustration into respect for your fellow poster and friend. At the end of the day I might have an opinion different than say of an Affshore or an Arabugsy but I would like to think if we ever met up before a game we would buy each other a drink and have a good laugh. Same goes for any poster on here.
Tomorrow is another day, hit the reset button and start fresh. Nothing but here.

Just saw this after I posted my last reply. Very articulate and well explained. All great bands have 'artistic differences', and I agree I hope the vulture continues to post on here as well
