According to the Tele Jackie thinks the squads still too big and others may go.
Wha ya think is still for the chop????

Keeper could go - so I'd say Szromnik - he won't have any polish pals left and guess it could be tough for him combined with his appearances not being exactly sparkling.
Defence needs bulked up
We've a massive amount of midfielders but can't see any of them being sold - barring paton Erskine and rankin they are all young and potential profit... not sure who would take on one of paton/rankin and pay te same cash either
Up top anier bilate are obvious but again you need somebody to sign them. Bilate has had an injury plagued career and not sure anier has enough of a reputation to get a move.
This is also based on ciftci going.

Have we no already had 11 players leave ? Yet still no new signings

All good news outta Tannadice at the moment.
Ten players down and the Manager's only talking of shifting more.
Great stuff.

Clean slate is need though Tek, cut our losses and start again adding pace and creativity in midfield and up front and a bit of grit and determiantion at the back with an 'experienced' keeper, all in an ideal world of course...
PS what happened to Andy Webster seemingly signing ????

God knows, it's turning into a bit of a 'Noel Hunt money' type of scenario.

Sqaud certainly seems unbalanced, I am trying to remain patient but its beginning to iritate, need something to happen.

Problem is though buddy that that's us shifted on everyone who's contracts run out,so anymore departures will have to either be via...
1)Swap deals
2)Punting them out on loan (and hoping their new club will cover their full Utd wage)
or...the dreaded scenario i hope we had seen the last of at Tannadice
3)Paying off the remainder of players contracts.
If it were say Szromnik and Anier he's punting there's 3 years worth of contracts were having to write off.
All speculation on my part (of course),but a concern nonetheless.
Offline
Who in their right mind would want Anier or Szromnik ???
Pay offs would be the only option for a few players unfortunately, we've done it before and we can possibly although relectantly,do it again. The 3 year deal for Anier really was incredible !!!

I guess Sromnik might still have a good reputation back in Poland.... so thats a possibility.
Anier - who knows, Estonian league probably not paying as much as ourselves?
Can't help but feeling JMAc has a bit of the football managers about him - buy loads of midfielders and strikers with 5* potential in the hope of making a big sale....
Result = totally unbalanced squad with players who get worse due to lack of gametime.
Has anybody looked into exploring the loan market? I know its not been our friend - but maybe 1 or 2 key positions would be helped?

If I was McNamara and was looking to move on some guys who probably won't be playing I'd say...
Three goalkeepers. We've currently got Szromnik, McCallum, Zwick and McGowan who are all too old to play for the u20s unless they are being used as an overage player. We don't need them all. Either McCallum or Szromnik stays, McGovern for sure should go.
Rafa Malaga. Another guy who isn't as young as you might think(he's older than Telfer and Connolly) and probably won't make it.
Ola Adeyemo. My East Fife researcher described him as the worst player he's ever seen play at New Bayview. He's not going to make it.
Two strikers. Bilate could be a player if he was free of injury, while Anier might end up being ok if he had a bit of confidence. I don't know enough about Simon Murray, but I can't see him making a huge impact. And to say we should punt Jordan Moore would be mean. All four of these guys are senior players though, and I'm confident of none of them.

Rafa Malaga left a few weeks ago SG.

Cant comment on the BNB Murray as i've never seen him, never seen Jordan Moore either tbh. Not good to hear that about Adeyemo, I forgot all about him tbh

As you spoke of clean slates, will it also apply to you, or is Simon Murray already being lined up as the new Brian Graham, coz I've genuine concerns that those that seek to curry flavour with you will start targeting the laddie from the start if you start prefixing him with BNB?

Those who seek to curry flavour with me ??? First time i've heard anything like that before ha ha..
No, no clean slates for me, nothing for me to have a clean slate about. I say it like it is. Always have, always will.
The BNB was very tongue in cheek and was not meant to be taken seriously.
Why mention Brian Graham ? He was dreaful, nearly as bad as Shala and I stick by everything I said about both.
Its opinions, like arseholes everyone got one.

Its doon the hole Gavin Gunning fell into in Lochee. ;-)

As I've stated numerous times no one can come in unless we move players on. Tbh I don't have a major issue with that as it means they are at least trying to keep costs down. More quality than quantity.

I thought when we had a few injuries last season we were stretched. So to lose 10 boys and only add maybe 4 or 5 does nothing ot alleviate this for me. Jackie said quality over quantity but I think its both!

Jackie's quote, “What I don’t want is people sitting here when they’ve no chance of playing.
“That’s something I’m looking at and it may be I move some on before making more than the signings I’ve in mind for the positions at the back.”

Maybe he wasn't "good enough" but define what that is in terms of a Dundee United player, as basically you end up each season where your financial outlay is? For last season, 3rd in the League and semis in both cups would have been a Par season. So we double bogeyed in the League and were Par in the Cups overall. For me, this season will be 4th in the League and semis in the Cups; but the season after that (assuming either or both of Deadco and HIVees are back with us) it becomes 6th in the League and quarters in the Cups is Par.
IMO ( a ) BG did not get enough of a run of games for ANYONE to say one way or the other if he was good enough; ( b ) BG's minutes to goals ratio was as good as anyone on our books and he wanted to play, but one missed chance in a game where Rado's mistake was costlier and tongue in cheek goes to a whole different level, that's what I'm saying; and ( c ) if BG had not been loaned out, I can guarantee that our season would have been better than it ended up being.

Im not away to get in an arguement aboot Brian Graham, again ffs
He wasnt good enough, that was proven, the manager put him out on loan so clearly wasnt in his plans. If thats the type of player that our financial outlay gives us then deary me we're in for a alot of bad times.
To assume we'll be 4th and anywhere near the cups with our current team is bonkers, we were playing like relegation material since February ! We'll be lucky to be top 6 this season coming unless we add players who can do a job.
IMO Graham was honking, missed heaps more than he scored.
You cant guarentee something that never happened.
Anyway, this is a near 2 year old argument ffs, you bored at your work or something ???

I did some counting when BG was in and out the team - his goals/mins ratio was ever so slightly BETTER than ciftcis. Now, im not saying he did everything as well as ciftci but he did have some talent.
Sure i read that he scored 10 goals from 20 starts with st johnstone.
Perhaps JMac doesn't know how to setup a team with certain types of strikers? I can only think of 1 striker under his tenure who has made an impact and many who didn't.
Either way, a lot of us like that this place isn't as mad as mad - so lets all play nice
